Well this is embarassing for me to write but here it is lol...

I homechurch by myself. Hubby joins in sometimes but he's more persuaded of science and things, I'm letting prayer and God guide him.

I read the Bible where God leads me, listen to some Christian music, prayer and praise, and then do a lesson or two on a Bible Study Online.

No one worships with me, Finland is 90% Lutheran and no one really goes to church up here. So it's just me and the Holy Spirit lol :).

Just as a brief explanation, home church is usually the seedbed for a house church. Some in the regular institutional setting may dislike the concept of home church, and it can have its shortcomings, but it can be the first step in either starting, or finding a house congregation. We have home/house churched for serveral years now. We have had families come and go. It's not for everyone, but for some of us, it's the only way to go. We like it. :)

We usually gather and sing a good while. Family and friends pick their favorite hymns, catch a starting note on a pitch pipe (we sing a capella by preference,) and sing away. We'll then have prayers, and launch into a traditional sounding sermon, or a bible study.

We close in prayer, and sometimes have some discussion afterward. Then again, it is not highly unusual to have discussion during the message. This is not a "play" or a "performance" so we can be impromtu and enjoy learning of the Lord together.

Oh yes, this is not some oddball click. We are blood-washed saints, gathering in the name of Jesus, for mutual edification and worship of the Lord.

That's what we do.

"I read the Bible where God leads me,"

Sistre Kat I must tell you that is an excellent and very important thing to do. Let me relate a little something that happened to me a few years ago. Bear in mind that at times my favorite hobby seems to be arguing with the Holy Spirit.

I could not understand the book of Hebrews. No pun intended but it was literally like Greek to me.

One Saturday morning as I was picking up my Bible to read I hear the soft, still voice of the Holy Spirit saying, "Read Hebrew." I answered by saying, "I am going to read ! Corinthians." Again the voice prompted me to read Hebrews and once again I declined.

The next day after Church I was going to read my Bible when once again I heard the voice telling me to read Hebrews. Not being one to push things tooo much I decided I would read Hebrews. Sister I am here to tell you the Book was opened up to me in such a way as it had not been before.

You see, the Lord knew I was ready to read Hebrews. Yet me being stubborn and pig-headed had to do it my way. When I decided to accede to the prompting I profited greatly. Oh that I could learn to do that each time.

In Christ,
George

Thanks for the info. I was just curious how someone would go about doing church at home.
