so many Christian parents allow their precious "babies" to read Harry Potter books? ???I'm so horrified when I hear of a parent who says they have no problem with these books and are practically proud they allow Harry Potter into their homes. Don't they understand that this stuff is bad and the God doesn't approve? There was even a so called "Christian" radio station that had Harry Potter movie tickets to give away when the last movie came out. What were they thinking?

Hi Regina...When my grown children were in public school, I think it was fourth grade they had "Harry Potter" read to them daily by their school teacher. I did not know what "Harry Potter" was then, but we all do now...it is sad to think that a series of books has made the world go nuts!! People are lined up for days just to buy the book...at the local Walmart they had a table sat up promoting the new book and taking donations for some needy cause and if you donated you could get a free Harry Potter poster, I just looked at her and said sorry I don't support Harry Potter, the look on her face was unreal...We need to pray and stand firm on the word of God...the world is becoming intensely wicked...All for HIS GLORY! There are also many Christian families who promote such things as The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe and other similar things. It is beyond me why people would not only want to expose their children to such things but to actively promote them. My Word!
If one takes a good look at Romans 12:2:
(Rom 12:2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (emphasis mine)
You will find the two most important words there to be the ones I have placed in bold face type. Our minds will be transformed to become transformed by what we expose ourselves to. Our sensory perceptions are what transform our minds to be conformed to whatever we see, hear, smell, touch, etc. If we expose our senses to the Word of God (and those of our children) our minds will become transformed to be conformed to the image of His Son.
By the same token, if we expose our senses to things such as Harry Potter and others such as I have mentioned, our minds will become conformed to the world and not transformed into the image of His Son.
Oh if only so many people could begin to understand the kind of life I came out of by the grace of God and the many things I went through. Almost all of it was due to the kind of books I read, the kind of music I listened to, the kind of movies and TV I watched and the things I was exposed to in my home life. I became transformed to be conformed to the world in a horrible way. Small compromises lead to big disasters.
In Christ, George

We prove that we are practical atheists by the way we live our lives. God is not real, the bible is not true or relavent, I am not accountable.
It is easier to obtain forgiveness than it is permission.
These are some of Satan's lies by which most Christians rule their walk and way.
