Dear Brothers and Sisters...I was doing my devotionals today and while reading a book written by Steven Lawson I came across this: I was saddend by it and guilty of this very thing...
"Most tragic, is the way so many of us in the church deprive God of His glory by the unholy ways we live our lives before the world. It is getting more and more difficult to tell the difference between the world and the church because of how we live our lives. We have stopped trying to be different from the world and are trying instead to blend in with the present-day system by embracing its values-and vices. During His ministry on eath, Jesus called His followers to live lives that distinguished them from the world around them. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glority your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16). Since we are to glorify God in our lives, as Jesus said we should, we must stand out as light in a dark and adulterous generation, not step down to dwell with it in the shadows. In short, we must be different! Unfortunately, this is all too often not the case today.
May we all take a stand for our Lord today and pray for each other...Sister Debbie

Amen to that! As we travel around to different churches, we see alot and sometimes it is very discouraging. I have to keep my eyes on Jesus, not my surroundings and the state of our fundamental churches, and shine where I am planted, Where ever I am I try and be a bright spot in someones day and be a shining testimony for Christ. We have a job set before us to be salt and light in this world and now in our churches. People are living stressful lives unnecessarily, they think they are living for Jesus ''doing all the right things'' when in reality they are living a wasteful existence spending their money and efforts foolishly. Too busy living for Jesus to be used of God, whether in her own family ''meeting their real needs not just doing enough to get by'' or in another needy persons life meeting a need they might have.'' May the Lord help us, and our churches to be strong in the Lord sold out to Jesus and a vibrant christian who's life is not in vain.
