As I've listened to the news over the last ten days it is so disgusting to listen to the liberal media take advantage of the Katrina disaster and use it to blame Mr. Bush and the conservatives. I am not advocating party politics here, but it is a "low blow" to use a "national" tragedy for paritisan politics.
Also, I have noticed the finance wizards doing their speculation. I have heard some say that this was going to drive America into a recession. They may specualte what is going to happen, but they have said similar things before.
It would be good for people to just stay calm, and do business as usuall and all would take care of itself. Unfortunately many people live by the "gospel" of the six o'clock news.
Mat 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof.

I just read of another phenomena that is occurring since the hurricane. (Gee I wonder if this one will be known through history as "the hurricane?)
According to the FBI there is an incredible amount of Internet fraud going on involving hurricane relief efforts.Apparently there are already over 2300 web sites advertising some kind of relief effort. The FBI stated they have checked 800 of them so far and fully 60% of them appear to be frauds. Most of them have connections to Eastern Europe.
What a sick bunch of people it must take to prey off of people's misfortune and misery! Quite obviously these are people who have no relationship with God. I say that because people I know who have a relationship with The Lord have been instilled with a conscience. People that would solicit funds supposedly for hurricane relief only to steal those funds and put them to their own perverse uses cannot have such a thing as a conscience.
The only thing I can say of a certainty if that if they "get away" with it in this life they will most certainly pay for it in the case of eternity. The Bible says God hatest all workers of iniquity. (Psalms 5:5) The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Yours in Christ, George Groce

Wow that's pretty bad. Low down and crooked to say the least. That money is much needed here to help these desperate people. I would tremble at the thought at what goes around comes around. Or the scriptures say, you reep what you sew. They might need help one day and find none. Scarry thought. We all get old, some come into health problems, misfortune, etc. Enough said... Please keep my only Uncle in your prayers he lived in New Orleans and no one has heard from Him and to the best of our knowledge he has never been born again. We're hopeing and praying for the best. With God all things are possible. Also his mama, my Nana lives in Mobile they have bad problems there. Camodes stopped up no drainage for her sink, shes has water and a small amount of ele she can run her fan and TV , They have been asked to conserve ele so she has no air conditioner. She is 84 and she said shes very hot and on top of that she has become very sick with dirreah. She want to stay in Mobile. They have no gas and the stores are bare. She has food and drink and her refridgerator is working now. Thank you for your prayers. I worry about her. She helped raise me. ~ sister Darlene ~

Here is another reason why we do not listen nor watch any of the stuff on the tv or radio much anymore. We are very careful to even go to web sites to look up information any more on the news. You can not trust that they will give the news and not the other garbage that they think we need to hear. What happen to the good old days when you could watch the news as a family and listen to it and not worry about the other stuff???

Media in general has an agenda. It is to sway the public to think a certain way. Think about it. Twenty years ago, your average sitcom portrayed Dad as an intelligent, hardworking, wise person who played with his kids and taught them many lessons steering them in the right way. Mom was a sweet, hardworking, gentle stay at home lady who took care of her family and loved her husband. I don't see any of that on primetime or cable or anywhere. Today the kids are the wise ones. Dad, if ther even is one, is unfaithful or planning to be so, a blithering idiot, drunk or absentee. Mom is a promiscuous, career-driven non-lady who arrives at home just in time to pay the babysitter and grab a bite to eat before falling into bed exhausted. The kids are smarter thatn their clueless parents and in the end they teach the parents a "valuable" lesson. I wonder do we as a society emulate the Babylon Box(TV) or does it emulate us. I will be the first to admit that my children teach me many things but not on purpose nor do they know, i just let them continue thinking Papa is wise and maybe I'll tell them later how much they taught me.
When I was growing up, I wanted to emulate the things I saw on the Babylon Box. I wanted to be a superhero. I wanted to drive the GENERAL LEE really fast. I wanted to be like Ward Cleaver. What is the liberal media offering our children as role models today. Let's see, they could be like the athletes that make way to much money at a young age and have no clue how to spend it responsibly, get injured, wind up strung out on drugs on the highway and only getting a slap on the wrists. Or the money-grubbing over-sexed people on that show Las Vegas. There are so many bad examples I don't think I need to go on.

Dearly Beloved in The Lord:
The television is Satan's median for promoting his agenda, in all of it's carnal glory and flesh. Therefore, let us not be weary over evil doers doing the work of their father, and faint not at their words, for they are the blind leading the blind, and they have stumbled at that stumbling block, the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Once justified by God's grace, we are to then be sanctified by His Holy Spirit living in us, and we are to no longer be concerned about the things of this world, or be caught up in their affairs, for this is all the workings of deceitfulness and guile in the unsaved man. For this cause we are called not to have fellowship with them by entertaining ourselves with their idols, namely "television." Throw that wicked thing out with your next garbage pick up, and thank God for showing you the error of their ways, and look not back again, showing your being fit for the kingdom of God. We don't need television, because television doesn't need Jesus Christ. Did you know that the name "Jesus Christ" is forbidden from being said on most all national television broadcasts??? Shall we be partakers of their wickedness by watching them? But no dearly beloved in the LORD, we are called to be separate, and to come apart from them, just as with the head covering for our ladies of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ask God to show you whether you should be watching a television broadcast which has forbidden the name above all names, the LORD JESUS CHRIST?! If you son's name was forbidden from being said on television because of their hatred of him, would you tune into and watch it? No, you wouldn't! Neither then should we be found watching it, for they blaspheme the name of God Almighty in word and deed, giving credit to "Mother Nature," "Global Warming," and other evolutionary and philosophical doctrines of this world. Shall I be so bold as to say that when we complain about wickedness around us, such as television, and yet we continue to partake of it, that we are being hypocritical? We are all guilty of this sometimes, but when we have been enlightened to the truth, and the finger of God is pointing directly at our own heart about an issue, like television, the question is will we obey?
Please meditate on the following verses from the Holy Scriptures, asking the Spirit of Truth to lead thee concerning this matter.
Ecclesiastes 10:1 Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour.
Galatians 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
2 Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Do you know how to tell what a man loves? By what he won't get rid of! We are known by the fruit of what we won't do in the name of Christ Jesus more than what we profess. By our fruits we shall be known, and our fruit is the righteousness of God through the Holy Ghost of which conforms us more into the image of Jesus Christ, which would not include watching a television broadcast which has forbidden the name of our Saviour from being spoken. Is this a truth, or is not? You decide.
I love the brethren of the Lord, and all their faithful help mates. "I will bless the LORD at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth." Psalms 34;1

Amen!.......That is a blessing brothers. Bro. Alen, You said it just like it is. What a shame christians justify having this filth in there home. Hopefully more people will read your post and become convicted. TV is poision. Not to mention a waste of ones time and brain energy. I believe TV watching is sin. Thats a strong statement but I have many good reasons why one shouldn't watch TV. I like what you call it the Babylon Box. We labled ours Dagon. We believe it is Americas idol that they justify and cant seem to get rid of. Everyone even christions and most pastors have to have one or more in there home and justify their use of it by putting boundries on it. It's evil through and through. Just the site of one turned off sitting in ones home gives me a bad feeling. You can't help but wonder what they watch on that box. Thank you both for your posts. Good! I like a strong stand against sin. What a blessing to see the work the Lord has done and is doing in your life Bro. Alen. Your family is such an encouragement and testimony for our Lord. I wish yall could move here and be apart of our little church. It's a new work and we need good families like yours. Who knows what the Lord will do. God is Faithful and worthy of honor and praise, ~ sister Darlene ~ Bro. Steven, I like your post and I like this verse.: 2 Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. That is good.
