We had homemade biscuits and sausage gravy for supper. The sausage was some of the fresh sausage we made the other day. It tasted really good. It is definitely a treat. Not healthy, just good!!
Debbie and Ruth, your suppers sound yummy!!

We are having baked salmon, Jeffrey caught 4 or 5 this past autumn..and fresh steamed asparagus...(my Dad just told me to try this w/asparagus, slather it with miracle whip salad dressing as soon as it comes out of the water, he said it's real good)
However..I won't be doing that as we are really buckling down here with what we eat due to health reasons...I know, I took the fun out of it :-)
Fresh green salad with baby spinach will also be on the menu, lots of ice water and that pretty much does it for us.
God bless, Sister Penny

Tuna Casserole is on the menu for lunch today. It's one of Jeff and Siera's favorite dishes. Sister Penny, Jeff loves to put fresh lemon juice on his asparagus. Have a good day! Sis.Beverly

I agree - fresh lemon juice on the asparagus is yummy. Also, you can add some of the lemon rind and a little garlic if you like garlic. I do not know what we are going to have for dinner yet! I'm still thinking of lunch I am eating all raw right now to get back on track with my general well-being. I'll have a green smoothie for lunch (bananas, globe grapes and spinach) and the rest of the family will probably have veggie soup and salad. For dinner ... I'll have raw guacamole scooped into a portabella mushroom cap with tomatoes on top and carrot sticks on the side. The rest of the family will have portabella sandwiches, tomato soup, and broccoli. Well, thanks for getting me to think about what's for dinner! Now I have a plan. Guess I should get the marinade ready for the mushrooms

We're having baked pork chops and vegetables. Not much but we don't have money to buy more groceries until Friday so we make due with what we have. I can come up with some interesting po folks meals when I have to.

Yesterday's dinner was interesting. We call dinner/lunch the noon meal, which is our main meal of the day. Supper is the evening meal.
Siera wanted to try making Sushi, so yesterday was the day. She made a smoked salmon sushi. I'm not a seafood fan, so I knew I wouldn't like it. Jeff thought is was ok, but Siera was disappointed that it was too fishy for her. I think it was the Nori sheets that were too fishy tasting. I guess Sushi is an acquired taste.
So, for my lunch, I made up some fresh guacamole, warmed up some tortillas and made quacamole wraps. It was so simple, yet so yummy, I ate three!! Avocado is so good for you!
Today, we're having tossed salad and deviled eggs. Simple and light.
