We are going to a picnic tonight that is a carry in type thing. I decided to make Chicken Divan for a main dish, then I thought of all the heavy stuff that would be there. So, I thought I could also take a vegi tray and salad. For dessert I made a Blueberry Ripple cake with the blueberries off the bush in my yard. I have made it before using sucanat and whole wheat flour, but thought others might not appreciate it as much so I used white all the way! Boy, did it look "anemic". Have a great evening! Frances

It is soooo hot! I was going to make Chicken Alfrado with mushrooms and summer squash but my beloved husband came home with Teri beef, chicken and some sushi. What a blessing he was to me today.

Well Ruth34, You must also be a good mama to have trained your children to even notice! The comment says volumes to me about you! By the way, I alway think each batch of spag sauce I make is better than the one before. I read your post and thought to myself.... oh I know what she means! Lenni

That is so funny Andrea! ;D I love my homemade spaghetti sauce too and often make comments...exclaming how good it is. ;D
Matter of a fact I think we will have Spaghetti and garlic bread tonight...I have fresh bell peppers to add. That will be so good! I add olive oil to my sauce and sometimes to my noodles. Fresh garlic is a must...We sometimes use a spice called spicy Spaghetti seasoning by TONES.
Frances can you share your recipe for Healthy Blueberry Ripple cake ? Made with sucanat and whole wheat flour. That sounds really good. Do you have any more healthy recipes you cold share? I'm always looking for a good, new recipe.
Have a great day sisters!

Your right... spaghetti sounds good. It has cooled off here in Washington. It's only in the mid 70's today. I felt a breeze for the first time in a week. I don't think I'd mind cookin' up some sauce. Lenni

We are having Corned Beef with cabbage, and something very cold for dessert...my hubby, just loves anything Irish, so thank goodness for the crockpot method as it's very hot and humid here today...after massive thunderstorms and drenching rains.
Hope everyone's enjoying cooler weather!!
God bless, Sister Penny

My 19 year old son came home last night and found us still canning tomatoes and salsa, he asked whats for supper? We said baked potatoes! He was disappointed...he said he wish we could have a real meal like Stroganoff. I wish I could have fed him a better meal after he had worked all day in the hot sun.
So tonight, guess what were having? Stroganoff! ;D He'll be so pleased.
I'm using ground Turkey instead of Beef. I hope it turns out good.
We have had a wonderful restful day! No canning today! Yea!
Well have a good evening dear ones.

Well, with a change in seasons and in the weather my menu is far different than in the summer when I posted last.
Tonight we had Cabbage Patch Soup. I also made a good old 7 layer salad. Yummy. It was so good and filling.
We will eat the rest tomorrow with some rolls. I'll just snack on the salad for the next day or two. I love all the flavors in it.

Our church has one wednesday a month where one of the church members cooks a delicious meal for everybody else. It happens to be tonight! Yummy! We do have to provide the desserts though so I am making "Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Bites", Its chocolate pastry dough put in the bottom of mini muffin cups and then after those cook I pour Peanut butter pie filling (the most delicious pie filling in the world!!! ;D) over it and let it freeze. After it is almost done freezing, we stick mini chocolate chips on the top. I make them often and they are always well recieved!
Andrea, your son's comment was adorable! As others have said, that speaks volumes about the way you are training your children! I only hope I can train my children similar when the Lord decides to bless me with a husband and children years from now. ;D
