I found this pie crust recipe and I was just so pleased with it that I had to share.
Pat in Pan Pie Crust
1 1/2 cups plus 3 tablespoons flour 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup vegetable oil 3 tablespoons cold milk
Place the flour, sugar, and salt in the pie pan and mix until blended. In a bowl, combine the milk and oil and beat until creamy. Pour all at once over the flour mixture. Mix with a fork until the flour mixture is completely moistened. Pat the dough with your fingers first up the sides of the pan then across the bottom. Flute the edges. Fill and bake.

Thanks for posting this recipe Sister Carole..You had mentioned it in your letter to me and I didn't think to look here for the recipe...
One of my Grandma's easiest recipe for pie crust is as follows..I find that if I cut down on the butter crisco to 3/4 cup it seems to set up better.
2 cups flour 1 cup butter flavored crisco (start w/3/4 cup) 1 dash salt in a 1/3 measure cup, add 1 Tablespoon of white vinegar and top off with ice cold milk.
First mix the flour, salt and with your pastry blender add the crisco...slowly pour in the milk, and mix it up...I roll this out on a floured sheet and so far it's never failed me..I am going to try your recipe since I hope to get some pies made up before the holidays!!
God bless!! Sister Penny

I baked Hubby's favorite pie (sweet potato) yesterday. I'll try your recipe next time. I think it's about time for a pecan pie! Yum Yum!
