I saw this teaching rear it's head again this weekend. We were fellowshipping with some friends Sunday and they brought a friend. She was a saved sister in an IFB church, but has somehow become convinced of these things. There are yet three feasts that are not fullfilled and therefore are to be practiced, and that these things are hidden from the church because the original New Testament was written in Hebrew and the Greek NT does not contain these teachings, they were taken out.
First of all, there are feasts that are yet to be fullfilled as far as what they mean sybolicly, but there is NO NT command or teaching for the church to practice feasts, passover, etc. Paul made it clear that these things are shadows, the reality is Christ! We have Him! Amen!
Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ.
Col 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Col 2:19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
Col 2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
Secondly, this theory that the original NT was written in Hebrew is simply not true. Because of the Hellenization (impression of Greek language and culture) on the Palestine in Jesus' day, they spoke 'koine' or common Greek. Hebrew was almost exclusively used in religious ceremonies among the Jews. It only makes sense that just as English is the international business language of our current world, so was koine Greek. Got put his NT in the koine Greek because every shepherd and potter knew it, as well as the elite.
Actually, to say the "secret" teaching of our need to keep feasts that are kept from us in our "inaccurate" Bible is hissed with the same breath that said, "...Yea, hath God said?" This teaching is to cause us to question if God who said He loves us and that His Spirit would lead us to all truth, has hidden it from 99.9% of Christendom. This is not consistent with the God of revelation.
1Jo 2:18 ΒΆ Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1Jo 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would [no doubt] have continued with us: but [they went out], that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
1Jo 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
