What if it were today?
Are you preparing to meet the Lord, or are you making excuses for sin and compromise in your christian life?
Do you think the Lord will understand that you were just doing what the christians around you are doing, and pardon you for not obeying His Word?
Looking at the world around us and the state of our churches we can see it won't be long before the Lord returns.
I get PM's and e-mails asking me if the state of our government, and the troubles around the world scare me?
I think we should be excited!....because the Lords appearing draweth nigh...Are you ready?...I'm preparing to meet my God, my Lord and Saviour, I want Him to be pleased with me when He comes for me. We need to be mindful of his return and prepare ourselves daily and be ready when He comes...God is real!
Satan has put a mask ( make-up ) on christianity, and has changed it's beautiful, pure, sweet image to that of confusion. Confusion of what is a christian supposed to be like and act like and look like? Who is God? What does God expect of me? God is hidden behind the confusion. Christians look at the world around them, and the christians around them and find little difference between the two. The confusion deepens. God does not seem real, or personable, one who is touched by our needs, desires, struggles. One who cares and is an active working part of our life, one who answers our prayers, comforts our hearts, and provides our every need, spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
Our spiritual eyes need to open so we can see God for who He really is, we need to read Gods word slowly, prayerfully, and meditate on it's message to us as Gods child. We need to not discount or change the meaning of scripture to fit our way of seeing things, or to fit our flesh and it's desires. We are to deny our flesh not feed and pamper it.
Rom 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Rom 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.
2Co 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Col 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
Psa 81:12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
1Co 10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
