Have any of you noticed the ingredients in Toothpaste!? Sodium Saccharine being one of them... I did not know until I read the article that it had Laurel sulfate too! We haven't bought tooth paste for years because of the Sodium Saccharine content. Fluoride is bad stuff too. Not to mention Laurel Sulfate! thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/10/10/focus/2221796&sec=focusWe use plain old baking soda.
In the past we made a paste using baking soda..mint flavoring..stevia..and water to make a paste. It leaves your mouth feeling minty fresh.
Now we just use baking soda...we all like it.
Does anyone make their own tooth paste? If so please share your recipe.

Plain old baking soda for me. In the past we made a paste using baking soda..mint flavoring..stevia..and water to make a paste. Is stevia available where you are? I recall a while ago I was looking into it and found that the UK Food Standard Agency would not allow Stevia to be sold here. I know some people see this ban on stevia simply as a way to safeguard sale revenues of Aspartame and Splenda. Bro. Steve

We just use plain baking soda as well. We did use a recipe for a while that had baking soda, peroxide and peppermint extract in it, but we figured just plain baking soda was cheaper and we didn't have to keep making it up. A box at Walmart is only 50 cents and lasts the 2 of us a long time.
