I am often asked, "How do I post a photo of _______?" It isn't very hard. Here are tips on how to do so. 1. Start an account with an online photo hosting site like PhotoBucket. 2. Once you've started an account, logon, and go to the "Upload Images" area and browse your computer for the photo(s) you want. 3. Once it is uploaded onto the photo site, look for the extension below (around somewhere) the photo that looks like this: [IMG}http//www.photobucket.com/59687/mydog/jpg{/IMG]4. Post the extension (like the red one above,) on the discussion board in your post. Like this: Here is a picture of my dog [IMG}http//www.photobucket.com/59687/mydog/jpg{/IMG] It will show up on the board like this: Here is a picture of my dog Voila! If you have any questions, just ask, we all had to learn this stuff. Ben

To Brother Ben or Sister Darlene (or anyone who can help),
I'm not sure if this counts as 'posting a photo', but I want to know how to put an avatar in for me. That is, if an avatar is indeed the little picture that appears to the left of a comment. I've never been on a forum before so there's so much I don't know.
It says I need to type in a URL. What's a URL? How do I put a photo (or avatar) on the internet if it's saved on my computer? Is it possible to put photos on if you don't have an online photo account thingy?
Can you help?
From Sister Rachel.

I think so. There in your in your Account Information area you can either chose an existing avatar, or place your own. If you want to place your own, where it says Avatar, choose none. Then below that, where it says Avatar URL put the URL, whether it be a photo account address or the actual place where that URL resides. NOTE: Some people do not like others "pirating" their URL for an image because it ties up their bandwidth so it is better to save the image to your computer, start a photo account, like at Photo Bucket or Flickr, and import your image from there. I hope that works. Let me know if I can further clarify. Bro. Ben
