This is my first time being a member of a forum
I have so many questions about how things work here
I tried to enlarge the print with the " font size " and it didn't work. I highlighted the word, clicked the " font size " and then clicked on " preview ". There was no change seen. I tried this again and then clicked the " font size " 3 times. I checked " preview " and still no change.
I tried to make a " quote box " once and it didn't work. I was at the " post " that I wanted to take the quote from. I clicked on " quote" and then tried to make a box for it. That didn't work. Was I supposed to highlight the words I wanted to put in the " quote box " ? Now I'm wondering if I have to be here where I am right now typing this and somehow get this " quote box " from the wording of the posts which is displayed below " post message " ? Is that how it is done ? ( did any of this make sense to any one ? )
I have never tried to " edit " my posts but was also wondering how that was done.
And can you ever " delete " an entire post or are they permanent ?
If any one can answer just one of these questions ( with great detail ) I would be most appreciative. Almost forgot about this one. It is the insertion of a red - lettered web link into a post.
I'm in no great hurry to learn all these things except for the " edit " one in case I make an error and I need to " edit " it fast.

Ah yes Sister, this forum acts unlike any I have ever belonged to. It is a bit tricky to negotiate.
As to font size, if you will notice at the top of the page where you enter a message there is a little box with a capital "A" and an arrow. In order to increase font size you must highlight the text you want to resize and then use that arrow box.
In order to quote things you must again highlight the text you want to quote and click on the little box directly below the arrow one. It has what looks like a little page with an arrow the points to the right. If you wish to quote part of another message you must highlight what you want to quote and then right click on it. You will get a drop down menu with a lot of choices on it. On of them is "copy." Once the text is highlighted, you right click on it and select copy you then place your cursor on the page you are writing to, right click again and select "paste." If you wish to place that in quotes you again must use the little box with the blue arrow that points to the right.
In this medium when you quote text it always comes out quite small within the quote box. What I do is highlight the text, use the box with the "A" and cause the text to become larger. Then I highlight the whole thing including the tags which say "size" and then click on the quote box.
I hope I may have answered your questions. Oh, I almost forgot, you do not have the option of changing the color of the text when placing a URL on the forums. They come out naturally blue. This is true of every forum I have ever participated in.

I forgot again. In order to edit your posts you must go to the message you want to edit of course. At the top of the page you will see three different options. The center one is "modify." By clicking on that you can go in and edit your posts.

This is a very helpful thread! I remember how hard it was for me to learn how to do everything. Now I like proboards best. I think it is easy now. Love, ~ sister Darlene ~

Hey, as long as we are having a Proboards tutorial, would someone please explain all of the little icons before each thread? Some look papers, others like burning or non-burning folders or folders with different colored marbles, and one looked like a caution sign with and exclamation point. I looked all over for some kind of symbols guide, but found none. Thanks! Sister Brenda

Where you type a message, above you will see a drop down called " standard ". You can choose icons there that will show up before the " Subject " A burning folder I believe means the thread is more than one page long. Some of those other icons like warning are I believe only for administration. Hope I helped

My ' font size ' is acting goofy. When I make a ' quote box ' it works to enlarge the tiny print to normal size. But, when I type out a word, and highlight it, it will not enlarge it.

Dear Sister, I see about the icons. I wish all of the tag buttons had pop-up labels to explain them. I don't understand computer language and don't know what most of them do, except the font and indentation ones that I've used in Word word-processor program. Well, thank you. Sister Brenda PS - Which one makes that fun moving-across-the-page messages - not that I'd want to use it all the time, or anything?

Sister Brenda
Go to ' Home ' page at the very top and click on ' ? help ' for info on proboards ... I saw this recently
It's called ' Marquee ' ... type a message, highlight it, then click ' font size ', highlight, then click ' Marquee '
Hope your ' font size ' is working - mine is working only for ' quote boxes ' . I've wanted to do a large letter marquee, but the ' font size ' refuses to work. Try, and see if yours works
Blessings sister
