Well in my true procrastinator fashion this is just a little late! We were planning on using the midwife and a birthing center to deliver this sweet blessing, but God was in control and had other plans for us!
On December 4, 2007 Kevin delivered our third beautiful baby girl right here at home in our bathtub! Kyria Magdalene just couldn't wait to arrive. My water broke after 57 minutes of labor and two minutes later she was here. The midwife arrived here after she was born and checked us out. Kyria weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 21.25 inches long.
That was labeled a precipitous birth because it was so fast. Due to that Kyria wasn't in the birth canal long enough to adequately squeeze enough of the excess fluid from her lungs so she ended up in the hospital for a few days with a pneumothorax, too much of my blood in her, and then a little jaundice. The only thing they really treated was the jaundice.
It was kind of funny when they told us they were going to admit her--I think because of my head covering they thought we would try to refuse treatment! If she had only had any one of the three issues she wouldn't have been admitted. Thanks to the lactation consultant we were able to get her released more quickly. She is happy and healthy now.
Blessings to all, Bethany

What a joy to hear of the birth of your new daughter. I wish mine would come a little quicker...I usually go at least 6 hours...last baby I was in labor for 36 hours! It about did me in. Were praying for a safe easy delivery and healthy mama after I give birth.
People ask what do we want? Boy or a girl? We tell them we just want our baby to be healthy. I pray every day for our unborn child. I'm so excited!
I am so glad to hear of your new blessing. Nice to meet you.
Love, ~ sister Darlene ~
