Does this make sense to anyone?
When a person is married, it is wrong to have inappropriate relationships with another person - even holding hands would be inappropriate? Yet, actors and actresses get in front of cameras and do these very things all the time, and people call it entertainment and make it okay. The thing I am getting at here pertains to the unmarried, also.
Christians should not set their eyes and thoughts on such evil. That's exactly what it is - evil. Don't we all know that God's Word says not to set wickedness before our eyes?
Something that is very alarming is the fact that professing people (even believers on this site) who claim the name of Christ even have a TV in their house. If all the "real" Christians would chuck the TV surely the lost would have to sit up and take notice. Wouldn't that be a light and a testimony?
A number of years ago I saw the movie "Sheffey". Even that movie has compromise in it. For instance, when Mrs. Sheffey hugs Mr. Sheffey, and at the end when Mr. Sheffey kisses Mrs. Sheffey. In real life, aren't these people married. Their kisses should be only for their spouse.
This is not a little thing! So many people set fornication and adultery and all that's related thereto before their eyes and accept it because it has the almighty title of "Entertainment".
Fooey on entertainment. As Denny Kenaston puts it, "Let us read the Bible till three o'clock in the morning. Amen! I'm a fanatic."
Just a loving exhortation here: When you give that TV or TV's a boot out the door of your home or office or car or whereever, it will feel like a controlling, demonic presence has left. A clearness will all of a sudden be there. It is not that the box itself is evil, but it is what it represents and spews forth into your lives and places.
I personally do not believe it when most people say that they do not see anything wrong with Disney movies, "family" movies, etc., etc., etc. They know the wrong deep down, but their flesh rules and runs their lives.
I have been there and done that. Just want to let you know of a peace you could gain. It is a peace you will never know of unless you step into the water.
God bless you mightily and be valiant for truth!
