Help.... My oldest daughter is having her first baby the end of summer ;D She wants to use cloth diapers I raised four children using only disposable diapers. I know nothing about cloth. At first she was going to buy birdeyes flat folds, but discovered that they are not very absorbent even if you use two So now she wants to make them out of flannel, so if any of you ladies who have used cloth in the past can pass some of your knowledge, please let me know. Thanks Love Sis Debbie

I found a pattern online and made mine out of flannel--it's a lot cheaper if she's can sew and is open to that option. It was a pocket diaper and I used the cheap cloth diapers as the liner. It worked great for me

We found a fitted diaper pattern and we both made one out of flannel with terry cloth in the middle. They turned out real cute. They are so much thicker than the store bought cloth diapers ;D Walmart is getting rid of all their material, so they had a hugh material sell and my daughter bought 30 yards of flannel for a $1 a yard. So I guess we will be making lots of diapers. We are also going to make diaper covers out of fleece and I think it is nylon material, it is the material used for making flags, water resistant. Having lots of fun ;D Sis Debbie

We have made a couple more diapers. We have been playing with the fitted diaper and tri-fold patterns. Made both and like both, but we are going to make the tri-fold ones only because they will fit from new-born to about 6 months. It is so much fun. Let you know how they all turn out, I will also try and post a picture later down the road. Blessings Sis Debbie
