I lost my baby a year ago , my first miscarriage. We had a trying year last year.
March 2008 I found out we were going to have a baby, we were so excited...# 9.
April 2008 Benjamin my oldest (age 21) was in the hospital for 3 days he almost died. I stayed with him the whole time it was very stressful.
April 2008 The night we came home from the hospital with Benjamin I miscarried my precious baby, . It was my first miscarriage.
May 2008 we were robbed 1,500 of building supplies out of the house we were building 1 hour and 10 min away. We had just charged over 2,000 three days before. We had a year to pay it off. We just payed it this May 2009.
We moved to the property that very day and camped out for 6 months in the elements.
Nov 2008 we moved in our finished home.

Times were hard, but the Lord has been good and faithful to our family.
This year has been a constant blessing. We have been desiring a baby lately, maybe I was pregnant and didn't even know it, the feeling has been very strong.
Last Thursday June 11th I took a pregnancy test ( I bought a 2 pack last year) I had one left over. It was positive. Thank you Lord!
This Monday June 15th I went to the Pregnancy Support Center and I got another pregnancy test, it was positive.
I am very excited, but a little scared, I just have to give my fears to God. I want to keep this baby, I do not want to have a miscarriage again.
I was going to wait a few weeks to tell everyone to make sure everything stays put, but Bro Ben says were going to have this baby with no trouble, so I trust him, I cannot hardly wait two weeks to tell everyone.
We are pretty sure I miscarried because of the stress of watching our oldest son suffer and almost die in the hospital. I'm taking it easy this time, God is helping me stay calm about my precious mother. She is in Gods hands, I can't be there for her, it hurts me, but it's out of my control.I am trying to get things together for the baby, we have nothing.
Last week end, we were driving with my friend in the country, and she saw a side of the road second hand store, I bought a bassinet, and a small car seat...thats a start.
We are going to use cloth diapers this time...pre folded with diaper covers, not plastic pants.
We feel so blessed.
Resting in Jesus, ~ sister Darlene ~

Thank you everyone! We are very excited
Thank you Naomi,
We need everything, so anything small would be a blessing. We use onsies from new born on up, receiving blankets, bassinet sheets, tiny socks, pre folded cloth diapers (I'm not going to try an attempt to make my own, I do not have the time), baby gowns ( I use these for boys and girls), stretchy caps, oh just anything would be helpful. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
The children are so excited especially the big girls, Brother Ben is very excited to have a little one around again. The small children ,and one of my big girls often come up and hug me for no apparent reason. How sweet!
My sickness is mild so far, normally I'm very sick. Please keep us in much prayer, I am 43 and want all to go well, I'm not the healthiest vessel, but a willing one and very happy and blessed to be with child. Maybe we can have another one after this one if the Lord opens my womb again. Ben said maybe the Lord will give us twins.
Have a great day!
Love, ~ sister Darlene ~

Can I wax sentimental for a momment? I've been sooo busy, but I finally had some time to think about what I wanted to say about this. Some of you (fogies like me,) probably remember the openning lyrics to this 70's song by Paul Anka: (By the way, I'm not endorsing Paul Anka, I just could not phrase it any better than that, so I'll give credit where credit is due.) Having my baby What a lovely way of saying how much you love me,Darlene, you are the darling of my life. You have been my love, my friend, my partner, my confidant, my counsellor, my sweety, my strong word (when I'm such a knuckle head,) and the dear dear mother of our children. And now...your having my baby! What a lovely way of saying how much you love me! Be blessed this day, my love. I am a blessed blessed man! Thank you. Lovingly, Ben

Thank you for your excitement for us. That means alot! Our family will not appreciate the fact I'm pregnant, I may not tell them, though it is hard not to.
A friend of ours shocked us the other day. Ben said I have exciting news, he said what? Ben said Darlene's going to have a baby! He said, '' oh ''... How did this happen? Implying it was a mistake or accident Ben said, now Boyd...you know how this happened, you've been to Science class ( he was just trying to blow off his rude reaction) Then he said, is this going to be the last. (to add insult to injury)
I thought he was our friend. This man is a christian, and seems to be blessed by our (big) family.
The world makes no sense to me. Why would anyone despise a big godly living family, where daddy and mama devote every minute o their waking hours to training and loving and raising their family for God, a family that doesn't take Government help...not even WICK. My husband is crippled and he goes to work every day to provide for us. We are debt free, we've never even once paid interest on a credit card, we pay them in full each month.
Anyway, it hurt to know his true feelings about us. You do not expect christian brethren who call you their friend to respond like this to a big blessing in your life.
Great Quote:"The Bible calls debt a curse and children a blessing; but in our culture, we apply for a curse and reject blessings. Something is wrong with this picture." ~ Doug Phillips
This week I started feeling my morning sickness. I am glad for strong hormones though. : Ben's says now I'm really pregnant! ;D
Thank you for all your prayers, they mean so very much to us, yall are precious brethren.
Love, ~ sister Darlene ~

Psa 127:3 Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward. Psa 127:4 As arrows [are] in the hand of a mighty man; so [are] children of the youth. Psa 127:5 Happy [is] the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Psa 37:25 I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Verse 5. "I remember a great man coming into my house, at Waltham, and seeing all my children standing in the order of their age and stature, said, "These are they that make rich men poor." But he straight received this answer, "Nay, my lord, these are they that make a poor man rich; for there is not one of these whom we would part with for all your wealth." --Joseph Hall, 1574-1656. From The Treasury of David. Outside of a life that has been consecrated to the Lord and the seeking of his face, the above verses do not apply. They, however, have been the verses upon which my family has cast the anchor of our hope. If God does not bless, if he neither builds, then all efforts are in vain. But, if he is the centerpiece of the family...happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them. Bro. Ben P.S. Thank you for your kind comments, we are so happy. I do wonder with my wife's hair turning grey and mine turning loose if folks won't wonder if we aren't Papa and Nana! ;D
