Does anyone know of a covering house church or just regular church that meets in the Dallas TX area? We are going to be moving there in June 2010 to start missionary training with Pioneer Bible Translators. We would like to hook up with a covering church or at least a church that dresses conservativly. These ideals seem to be so hard to come by these days.
Thanks for any of your help Carmen

Sister Carmen we'll be praying for you folks as you move and re-settle to the Dallas area. If I can find any info on a good church to visit there I will let you know. I'm sure others on this site will do likewise. How long will you be in school for translators? Where will you be going after that. I have a friend that is a translating the Bible for a backwoods area of Papaua, New Guinea. Blessings and Prayers, Sister Pamela

Maybe you can ask at a discussion group for Amish or Mennonites? I'm not sure how to find such a group but surely they can send you in the right direction. What about the training school? I might be wrong but I thought Bible and missionary schools held their own services?

Hi All! Thanks for all your responses. We will be in training for about 2 years. After that we don't know where we will be going. We are still letting the Lord guide us. Pamela- If you ask my oldest daughter she would tell you that is where we are going. But we are not for sure yet that is where the Lord is leading. We are hoping to take a short term trip also so we can get a feel for overseas missions. This mission organization doesn't have a chapel for Sunday services per-say. I could probably ask them were they go to church.
Lord's Blessings on You Carmen

There is one church I can recommend that you visit. The first is Faith Presbyterian Reformed in Mesquite. fpcr.org/ Even though the pastor is Presbyterian, most (if not all) of the members are baptists who were drawn to his church because of his standards. We love his preaching and listen to him regularly. However, most of the members are very involved in Amway which I would warn you to be wary of. There are other doctrinal issues that concern us there as well. We have attended occasionally, but have never felt led to make it our church home. They cover and dress modestly, are family integrated and homeschool. You can do a search for family integrated churches here: www.ncfic.org/ Although we personally have ruled most of them out. This is in some way affiliated with vision forum.

Yikes on the Amway! ...but I like this statement on his "Pastor's Vision" page: Two thumbs up, pastor. Bro. Ben
