Brother Ben, I have a cousin who called me out of the blue, with all this jabber about 2012. My mom is of middle eastern decent, her father is. This girl accepted Christ years ago but now is engulfed with this weird teaching. I let her ramble and told her i would talk more to her later. My dilema , to know how to help her out of this deception, and to even know what im dealing with here. Her name is jennifer, she has had a very hard life, but has always been very big hearted and kind. please pray for her and for me, i only want wisdom to help restore her thinking.

This whole 2012 thing is completely dispelled by the Bible. (That is if you have a King James Bible. If you don't it might not be in there.)
There you have it plain and simple.
In Christ, George

The verse brother George posted is a good one to share with her. As fascinating as other cultures and their prophecies might appear, we must always use the word of God as our "sounding board" to verify the authenticity of these claims. I believe as the end draws closer, God will begin to put it into the hearts of many that his coming is soon, but those WITHOUT the scripture as their final authority will be off in their predictions. The other thing I would talk to her about is that the theme of his coming is spiritual readiness. Though prophecy is interesting, it can't compare the to the need to examine our lives in the light of his coming.
