I heard a guy talking about this article on the radio this morning. It was very good and worth reading to understand the MISinformation being spread out there regarding "green Energy." Mr. Bryce said, "Gasoline contains about 80 times as much energy, by weight, as the best lithium-ion battery." The HyperGreenies want more then clean energy, they want to disable America from being the most productive nation on the planet. Five Myths About Green Energy A Washington Post article.

I think "going green" is kind of a new religion to some people these days. We got a new "energy saving" washer and dryer from my brother in law when he switched appliances. HA, they aren't efficent as they claim. The dryer took twice the amount of time to dry than our older 1990s dryer that is more effective. The washer doesn't get clothes half as clean and since it's a front loader it's hard on the back. Since we had to run the dryer twice as long it used more energy and the belts overheated twice as fast. It's busted now and we have no desire to fix it, airdrying is more effective than that dryer. I know they're making biofuel from moss now or looking into it, I think alternate ways to make oil would be more beneficial than the whole battery thing. I did think it was cool to be "off the grid" and live in a battery powered house until I saw Les Strouds do it. The amount of battery power to run a house for just a 4 member family is insane. Here is the documentry about it on Youtube, he's family friendly and it's a good watch. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg7EaLIJrBwKatrina

When I heard Britain was to ban the sale of incandescent light bulbs, I went out and bought a box of 100 bulbs! I don't like the low-energy ones they have force-fed us. Of course, it's just my rotten luck that I've moved to a house that has 'spotlight' fittings, so my 100 incandescents are redundant for the time being

They will also be phasing them out here in the States. I believe it begins in 2011.
One problem with the CF bulbs is that they cannot be used in lights with dimmers. There have been numerous reports of fires because people used them and then used the dimmer function on their light.

A couple of thoughts on this. One is if you buy a new car you will be saving. This one of the most deceitful ideals around. The cheapest car to own is the one that you own and is paid for, even if it does not get real good mileage. Most people do not NEED a new car.If you buy a new car to save money you are coming out on the short end of the stick. If your old one is worn out and you truely need a newer car and find one that get better mileage then good deal. One has to figure out what it is going to cost you on a daily , monthly base to own that car. Most new cars are a joke as far as mileage goes. There has always been cars that get as good if not better mileage then ones do today . Sorry if I am ranting it is just one of my pet peeves. Another really non-green thing is now how EPA requires me as a contractor to deal with lead paint in older homes pre-78. The amounts of plastic sheeting and other things I have to use and then throw away is unreal. And all of this is because of a lawsuit brought on by no less the the Serria Club(greenies) Well that is my 2cents for the day ,if it is only worth 1 cent keep the change. Bro Randy

Darlene and I love God's creation, and we think it is good stewardship to not pollute our environment. However, the agenda the "greenies" is pushing these days has little to do with saving the ecology. Though some may have this as their central concern, the real devil behind this is...socialism. What we are seeing when it comes to electric cars, wind turbines, cap and trade legislation is better termed "bio-socialism." What they are doing is imposing restriction and the productivity of the most progressive nation on the planet earth - America. Yes, we have our sins and our faults and failures, but in regards to advancement in most all areas of business and science, we are the leaders. Socialists hate the progress that our capitalistic form of democracy has produced and they want only one thing...to bring us down. Who actually does anything about cleaning up what comes out of the stackpipes of factories? America. We have the cleanest air on the planet. I've worked at a (dread, evil, and wicked,) coal plant before for one of our cutomers. By the time they filter and scrub (however they do that,) the only thing in the smoke is some NO2 the same stuff they put in your whipping cream can. They are able to extract the solid matter. It is gypsum. This is sold to plants that turn it into sheetrock...and no it is not mingled with deadly toxins like the cheap stuff we buy from China. So what about China, are they keeping up their end of the Kioto protocals? Need I say anything more? But they're working on it (the bleeding heart liberal commie lover says.) HA! Sarcasticly speaking, Bro. Ben
