Just wanted to share a story with all of you.
My husband is not a Christian. But he is not hostile to my being a Christian, or raising our kids that way (except with some hot button topics like evolution--which we do NOT discuss). He is a wonderful, gentle husband and father who does not understand what anyone has told him about salvation, but I still pray for him regarding this.
Anyway, a few years ago, my husband took one of our kids to an amusement park for a "daddy and me" day. While he was there he said, he saw a woman who he was totally drawn to because "She looked just like YOU, honey!". By that he meant that she wore a modest dress and headcovering, not the usual skimpy bathing suit, indecent summer clothes, etc., that so many in the parks wear. He felt this almost magnetic need to go up to her and talk to her, although of course he didn't. But it really made me feel wonderful that he was drawn to her and felt positive about the way she looked, because that meant that he noticed how *I* dressed, and how I dressed our girls, and that he approved.
Men DO notice, and they LIKE a woman who looks like a woman! Marilyn

My husband is the same as yours. He is a Baptized Lutheran but he isn't very active in his beliefs. He doesn't mind me headcovering or dressing modestly which is wonderful. Ah, the infamous evolution....I always say God made science and call it a war lol. I agree! My husband says many women here aren't feminine so it makes me happy he knows I'm trying to be. Katrina

I know this is an old thread..but I would like to comment...
it is not just men who notice. It is woman, children, society in general.
I live in a resort area and we get lots of people from all over. I must say I have not had one bad experience with my dress or head covering. Most people actually show a respect toward me and recognize it as Godly.
funny thing though...is that sometimes people or children will look at me..and I think why are they looking at me..lol I forget it is because i have a covering on. lol
I usually smile and say hi and they smile and say hi back. sometimes I get a chance to witness too. Please always remember to be friendly. You never know when you might get to teach someone about Christ or lead a Christian to covering.
Hugs.
