I grew up in a Plain church, no decorations and the services were very quiet and "tame". I know some people who are in the Charismatic Movement (they are Pentecostals) and WHOA they have a different service . Many Baptists are put off by the Charismatic movement, but I was wondering your views on them Brother Ben. Thanks! Katrina

Like many groups, there are different types of Charismatics. Some are calm and more modest, and some are on the extreme edge of ecstatic shows of their "gifts" (and I use that lightly,) and extravagant dress and pomp.
Though I do not believe in their pet doctrine, namely, being baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, I do leave room for them in the body.
I have a dear brother in Christ who is in the Assemblies of God denomination. I have prayed with him many times. He has never made an issue out of nor spoke "in tongues" in my presence. Furthermore, he is one of the few men I call, a holy man, when I need a prayer partner who "gets through to God."
So, as you see, we have to leave room for these types of believers. I think some of them are not saved and their show of "gifts" is an act. But then again, there are some Baptist brethren I do not think are saved.
So, that's my two cents worth
