IRAN: MANY MUSLIMS TURNING TO CHRIST DESPITE OPPOSITION Muslims are reportedly coming to faith in Christ in record numbers in Iran. In recent months, The Voice of the Martyrs has received several reports of opposition facing Iranian Christians, including the arrest of 15 newly converted Christians in the city of Mashhad Razavi Khorasan in July. Despite increased persecution, however, contacts have confirmed that believers in Iran are continuing to share Christ courageously with Muslims, with many converting from Islam to Christianity as a result. Praise the Lord for the many lives that have been touched by His grace in Iran! Pray that new converts will grow in their faith. Pray that God will give endurance, encouragement and a spirit of unity to all those following Christ in Iran (Romans 15:5).

This is wonderful news. My father is from Iran, though he is not a Muslim. I lived there until I was two, but don't remember much! The Iranian people are some of the most hospitable and sincere people there are.
The majority of Christians in Iran are Armenian, which is what my family is. Many of those are Christian is name only, being members of the Armenian Apostolic Church. There are many true believers however, and they have always lived in peace among their Muslim Iranian neighbors.
A good book which I just started reading is "Iran, Desperate for God." It's put out by Voice of the Martyrs. I would love to one day visit the lands of my ancestry (Armenia, Iran, Turkey, Russia,etc.). Pray for a great harvest of souls for Christ in the Middle East. Many Muslims are truly hungry for God and find Islam leaving them empty.
