I would like to hear some feedback on the following Scripture. Thank you.
James 2:14-24 (King James Version) 14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Dear sister,
A born again person is quickened in their spirit ( made alive in Christ) A new creature....old things (and ways...thinking) are passed away behold all things become new.
Are we ''instantly perfect'' ( mature) in thought and actions? No...it is a daily yielding to the Holy Spirit. We grow closer to the Lord day by day.
We are prompted in our spirit by the Holy Spirit to do good deeds and works, that is the outward working of our faith. Evidence that we are truly born again.
If someone says a prayer...even believes in God, but has no promptings of the Holy Spirit in their life, no outward workings of the Holy Spirit to do good deeds or works, then their faith is dead. The Holy Spirit in us compels us to do good deeds or works, it is the ''will of God'' in a christians life.
To many people have a cheep, lifeless salvation, one where they have liberty to live a careless, and compromising, sinful life and a selfish, flesh pampering life, full of yielding to the fleshes desires, instead of the Holy Spirits desires for a christians life. And these people fill our churches and pulpits and they say they are ''secure in Christ.''
Yes, a truly born again person is secure in Christ. (Jesus paid it all all to Him I owe)......I think we need to make our calling and election sure. 2 Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: We need to read our KJV bible and truly seek after the Lord seek His face, not just His hand. We need to yield to the teachings set forth in the bible, we need to yield to the Holy Spirits promptings in our life. We need to seek to please our Lord in everything we say and do.
Salvation is not just a ticket out of hell it is a way of life and abundant life promised to us in scripture.John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I hear too many christians making excuse and room for sin and compromises in their life, they live in defeat and confusion, instead of victory and being led by the Holy Spirit..... our guide and comfort.
Here is a link to a wonderful discussion a few of our board leaders and board members had on this very topic. It was a question a sister had asked me but I was unable to get on line so the brothers answered her for me. They did an excellent job, much better than I could have done. When I came back I was very blessed by the posts everyone had made. I love reading posts like this. I think it will be a blessing to you and answer any questions you might have.
It is so good to have you join us here.
