Mullein is a tall weedy plant that grows in waste places. Google it for several different pictures of mullein. The leaves are long and very soft and can be used as a TP substitute (fyi ;D)
Mullein flowers are soaked for several weeks in olive oil to make an oil that is superb for ear infections. It's very easy to make. Pick mullein flowers to fill a small jar, then cover with olive oil. Cover the top with a piece of cloth and rubber band, then let it sit in a warm spot for several weeks. Strain and put on a lid. You can add an opened vitamin E capsule to keep it from going rancid. To use, warm a little slightly and use a dropper to put into the ears. Plug with cotton to keep the oil from draining out.
Gathering herbs and making medicines is a hobby I really enjoy. It's a good excuse to get out and appreciate all the good things the Lord has made for us.
