We purchased a Dehydrator from Wal Mart years ago and have gotten much, much use out of it. We are about to purchase another one so we can dry twice as much at a time. We have found a nice one at Bed Bath and Beyond just like the one we bought years ago. Wal Mart does not have that kind anymore.
We buy bananas on sale for 17 - 29 cents a pound once I got them for 9 cents a pound. That was great! They mark them down when they get spots....Perfect for drying.
We like dried apples alot too.
We dried Tomatoes last year and okra as well.
A friend said she dries zucchini and squash, and greens too.
This is a good way to preserve.
We put dried fruit and veggies in a Mason Jar and screw a mayo lid on.
You could use one of those sealing machines that take the air out of the bag and seal it. That would be really preserved.
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
