Dear Friends, How exciting! What a wonderful site I'm so glad I can be a part of this new discussion board.
My name is Darlene I'm PreacherBens wife ( benshelpmeet). We have been married almost 20 years, we have 8 children, we homeschool and rent a 15 acre farm in middle Tn. We attend the Pilgrim Baptist Church where my husbend is pastor. We just started the church July 4, 2004. It is very exciting to start a work for the Lord from the ground up. It is the Lords work and he will grow us as he sees fit. I look forward to getting to meet other conservative christians who are interested in or who believe in the covering and a simple God honoring lifestyle.
We serve a Mighty God ! ~ Darlene ~ Romans 8:4 Hebrews 11:6 Acts 6:4 Proverbs 10:24b kjv

Hello to the new group!
I'm Ann, otherwise known online as hszoo or homeschoolzoo. My kids have graduated already from homeschooling and I really miss that season of my life.
I started covering only a few weeks ago, but this is something that's really been on my heart for probably 2 years!
I'm so glad there's a forum for those of us who believe the Baptist doctrine as well and covering.

Whoo Hoo! Howdy everyone. I am just tickled to be here. Good job with the board Bro. Ben. It looks really nice. I'm Maggie aka the Hillbilly Housewife. My hubby Fred and I live in southwestern VA. We are the only plain baptists in our area, although we do have German Baptists and Mennonites who cover, so I don't stick out too much. We have been married 17 years and have 4 children. 2 grown daughters from Fred's 1st marriage (22 & 24) and 2 sons from this marriage, ages 8 & 11. We're hoping the Lord will give us more. I'm apparently barren these days, but with the Lord all things are possible. I've been looking for a place to direct other headcovering baptists and to fellowship with like minded folks. This site is a real blessing to me and I am very thankful to be a part of it. I'll try and get Fred online in the men's area. Blessings and many thanks :)Maggie

Hello,
My name is Susan. My family and I live on a commercial farm in Oregon. I have been married to Jim for 30 years and have 6 children ages 11 - 20. We are a home school family. Also living with us are my elderly parents (86 & 87). All of our children except our 20 year old live in our house with us. Our oldest shares the house next door (on our farm) with a young couple and their infant daughter who are preparing for the mission field. We attend a Independant Fundamental Baptist Church. I am the only person I know in this area who covers except for our Mennionite neighbors. My screen name is quaitefarm.

Hello! My name is Susie. My husband is Chris. We have been married for ten years. We have two children, Brianna 4, and Paul 1. Praying for more! My goal is to be a wonderful wife and a good mother. A little about us. We are a homeschooling family. We live in San Diego, CA. (We are nearly debt free, and will be moving where the Lord will take us so we can buy a home or build one!) We love music (my husband is a singer/song writer) and he leads worship at our church. I have been studying the word regarding modesty and covering. Very wonderful and challenging and difficult and good all at once! I have been covering (with homemade scarves) for over a week now. I have been wearing dresses and no jewlery/makeup, too. I am doing this because of convictions that my appearance should draw attention to Jesus and that my good works should only adorn me. Also, I do not want to entise my brothers to sin and I want to not be a show-off, instead I want to have a meek and quiet spirit. Thank you for this board!
Susie

Dear Susie,
You are warmly Welcomed here. Your testimony is a blessing. Sounds like you have made very consevative and right choices eairly in your marrage and family life. Becoming debt free ( we decided to go that direction early on and have now been married almost 20 years no credit card debt and we have a high credit score to buy a house on one day, we have never owned our own home yet were trying to purchace but the Lord hasen't opened the door yet.) wanting more children, homeschooling, and head covering. That's a neat testimony for a young lady.
Blessing to you, ~ Darlene ~ Acts 6:4

Hi! My name is Naomi, I'm 16 and have been homeschooled all my life. I've been brought up in a conservative Christian home, and God has taught our family a lot through the years! I've been wearing dresses and skirts for about a year now, and really enjoy them! I did wear them for a year and a half, but that was only because we were in a place where that was the dress code, and I was always looking for opportunities to wear pants or shorts. God had been convicting me about the covering for over a year, and I just started wearing one this past Monday. I'm the only one in my church that wears one, and one of the very few in my town that wears them.
Some of my interests are: cooking, message boarding, children, etc. I graduate this spring, and hope to go to Crown College in Knoxville and go through their School of Missions. I have no idea what God has for my life beyond that, but I'm sure He'll show me in His time!
I have enjoyed this board ever since I've seen it! There aren't too many places online that have like-minded people!!

Welcome to the forum, Naomi! It's so refreshing that a younger Christian girl is convicted in this way. My own daughter just turned 17, and while she does only wear dresses she hasn't come to the full conviction of head covering yet. I'm praying, though, that she will listen on this matter.

I just wanted to say "Welcome" to the new forum members! I get such a blessing from these folks and I think you will, too. Pastor Ben and his wife Darlene are excellent leaders here and as I read Pastor Ben's topics, I know they are growing me more and more daily. Sister Darlene is such a joy and a blessing, too, and so encouraging.
