It seems Satan is on every corner trying to trick me with everything of this world and I've been having a really hard time lately. I really need some encouragement. I read my Bible but still I feel hopeless. Can anyone give me some Bible scripture that conquers anxiety, fears, & hopelessness? I naturally a very motivated person but could always use some scripture on motivation would also be appreciated. I just want to give everything to the Lord and live my life for him. I have had a lot of stress in the last year-way too much. It just seems like one thing after another keeps going on. It looks like things are starting to settle down now but still I feel the residual effects. Thanks.

Marie, God honors our intentions and desires to serve Him. There are so many Bible verses of encouragement I cannot even come close to name them all. Try reading the Psalms and the New Testament for comfort and instruction. Nothing we ever experience in the way of "stress" will ever come close to what Our Dear Lord suffered in His Passion. Beaten, bloodied and crucified for our sins, that's the ultimate stress right there. Whenever you feel discouraged, remember to pray the Lord's Prayer and especially emphasize "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give all your hopes to Jesus and let Him decide what's best for you. Trust Jesus to perfect your life and gain comfort and peace. " I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;" Is. 42:6 [11] For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. [12] Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. [13] And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. [14] And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. Jer. 29:11-14 These have been encouraging to me. Hang in there, sister.

Isaiah 41:10
King James Version (KJV)
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Goodness! Me, too! It seems I'm failing on lots of fronts. So, I guess we need to pray for each other, and make time for regular Bible reading. We are living in perilous times; getting more so all the time. - Well, I hear our kitty cat munching on her kibbles; guess she didn't have a good day for hunting mice and other critters. John just now let her in and suggested that we keep her in; she dislikes staying in the house. - She insisted on the name "Brutus" for herself; which is sort of disturbing - refused to answer to any of the little "girlie" names we gave her at first. If I've already told you this; please look over me. Twinkie

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Eph. 6:18
