Today, 'anything goes' ... end times ... it will continue to worsen ... we mustn't fall into the 'ways' of the world.

all denominations are moving toward liberalism...some faster then others. that said not all people involved in any denomination are all liberal.
we strive for perfection. We strive to be holy. I think where some people get confused is where Holiness churches say once you are empowered by the Holy Spirit you are no longer a slave to sin. You have the power of Christ thru the Holy Spirit to live victoriously. You become a new creature, have a renewing of the mind. So, those sins that once enslaved you no longer have control over you. You can break free from their control not in your own might but by the power of the Holy Spirit. So, in that sense yes, you can be Holy unto the Lord. (not having full perfection). Also, Christ blood covers us before God therefore when God views us he sees us as being righteous/Holy because God can not view sin. Christ blots out our sin before God.
Do we still sin...Yes, and then repent and no longer are controlled by that sin. does this make sense??
Christ died to set us free from our sin. It does not make us holier than thou thing. It makes us washed in the Blood, and freed by grace. The grace that is free for all to have.
that is what victorious living is all about...overcoming the devil!
I explained it to the teens like this..just as an example..they may have desires or passions but they do not have to give into those desires or passions they have within them the Holy Spirits power to deny those desires or passions./temptations whatever they may be. drugs, alcohol, rage, fornication etc.

I find this so sad I'm sure the Lord does too. So many churches are falling prey and being led astray. the Bible says that satan will come as light. I do believe it will get worse the closer to the end times. I also believe God is calling all true believers (from all the denominations) out. in the end there will be no denominations just true believers. this is just my opinion Something I believe God has put on my heart. I think it is time to get rid of those labels. We are all Christians or not. oh, one more thing I am sure we can all agree on. Each and every person has to accept christ for themselves. God has no grandchildren, nieces or nephews. He only has children!

Amen, Sister Nancy, I think the Lord will send more persecution to drive away the "chaff" from among those who call themselves Christians. The Church in many foreign lands are very unified, because they know that gathering together to worship the Lord may mean physical death. We can surely see the end of this world as we know it approaching! When He is done purging the church though persecution, He will have a spotless Bride to meet Him at His coming. This frightens me some because I know the condition of my own heart. Although I've never done all of those "bad" things in which so many have become ensnared, I also know that in me lies too much pride, selfishness and other bad things of the old man. If it weren't for the cleansing blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, I would have no hope! I'm also used to having things nice and easy, so I have to sometimes pray that the Lord would give me His strength and courage if I were to ever have to face the kind of persecution that I know is coming. I guess that's one reason I joined this forum -- for the encouragement of Believers who have made bold statements to the world by obedience to the Scriptures and traditions that God has laid down for us in things such as modest and headcoverings. You have been a great encouragement already, Sister.

I'm thinking of Paul
Acts 21 : 13
Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

I know what you are saying.. I feel the same way about physical persecution. the only thing that keeps me from fretting is one, fear is from satan. and two, Jesus promises that His grace will be sufficient for me!
Some of us are just not as brave as others. I'm thinking I will need a heavy dose of GRACE when the time comes If I am not already with Jesus.

2 Corinthians 11 : 23 - 27
23 - Are they ministers of Christ? ( I speak as a fool ) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
24 - Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
25 - Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
26 - In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
27 - In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

2 Corinthians 12 : 6 - 10
6 - For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
7 - And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 - For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 - And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 - Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Amen Sister! God has given me a "thorn." It is called cancer. When I get to being headstrong, (which unfortunately is far too often.) the cancer comes back which I believe is just God's way to show me who is really in charge in my life.
I believe we are all ready to face persecution if we rely on Jesus Christ for our comfort and strength. When we get to the point we say that we just can't do it any longer that is when we need to stop and realize that we can't but He can and will.
(Heb 13:5) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Sometimes it is difficult to keep that in sight but when we do remember His promise it certainly makes things different. I am reminded of Psalm 23:
(Psa 23:4) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
There are two extremely important words in that verse, through and shadow. The verse does not say that we are going into that valley and wander about. It says we are going THROUGH it. Going through it means we shall come out on the other side. Then there is shadow. In order to have a shadow we must have light. The light in this case is the pure light of God. It is comforting to know that even when the darkest shadows occur there is light on the other side.
Even if we end up going through that valley into the physical death of our bodies we shall come through the valley into the light of The Lord. Amen!
In Christ, George

Amen
for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee ... that is my comfort
light of The Lord ... We will walk in it one day ... a glorious light our eyes have never seen
