As a lot of you have know a while back my husband and myself made a choice that most would think was crazy. We had prayed and prayed over it for some time. That choice was to leave the work force all together. Now mind you this was not something we did on a dime. It took years of the lord telling us we needed to do this and a whole lot of work on our part.
We payed off all our bills that could be payed off and well he did it. He left the work force. Now there is something that I have learned from all of this
1. it was the right choice and that most of the times the right choice is not the easy choice.
2. that whenever we are doing what god is telling us to do it seems like the pits of hell are opened up and are out to get you and your family and they try to distory any peace you have.
3.that if we trust in the lord all our needs will be met. Now notice i did not say wants. I said needs.
Now that i have said that let me tell you what the last few months have been like. WE have saved and saved every penny we could come up with and belive me i mean every penny. When gerald left his work we took every ouce of money we had in there and that was not a lot honestly just a little over 1500.00 cash. As i said not much. Now we have worked hard to not spend any mroe of that money than we have to. HOwever things happen, truck needed brakes, plumbing mest up, washer broke, garden flopped, etc. As you can see one thing after another. And the big one my famliy that i had not seen in over 3 1/2 years decided to show up without me knowing they were coming and are still here almsot two months later.
Now with all of this the budget has been pushed to the max and then some. Our pantry that was full is now well getting bare. I am doing some canning work now to try to fill in some of the bare spots but there are some things that will have to wait.
I am telling you all this because i want to tell you now all the wonderful things that the lord has done while all this is going on. One my husband is getting to know his kids more than ever before. They love having there dad at home. We work together as a family now more than ever. The lord has brought us closer than I ever thought possible. We laugh together and cry together you name it... When there has been a food need and well there is no money there to fill that need it seems like someone stops by with that need or someone stops by and wants to know if we know how to do this or that and is willing to pay us to work for them for a day or so. Or the lord will lay on our heart that something needs to be sold and it is sold in that day for what we ask for it.
As some of you know my washer died and well long time before that happened my friend a dear friend bought me a wash board and wringer now mind you i honestly never thought i would use it. I stored it up and when people came to the house i would show them and say well maybe one day... one day.. And well that day came to pass the lord knew i needed that and when i would need it. It was here for me to use. I had no worry of how i was going to wash our clothes. he already knew..
Yesturday and today I have been busy canning potatoes and carrots. Two things that were given to us by a frined they had got them and were afriad that they would go bad before they could use them all up. I have canned almost 30 jars of potatoes. All that the lord provided for us.
He is a wonderful God and he will meet all our needs. We just need to be more ready to accept the best that he gives us and stop compairing it to what the world says is the best.
