My mother and I were talking on the phone yesterday, I told her I was writing a study or tract about headcovering and modest dress. I also told her that I was only wearing dresses and that I was now covering for prayer, worship, and teaching. She asked why and I told her about some of the scriptures that this discision had been based on. She had never read or thought about it in that particular context before. She wrote down these references and it was her idea to go over them and research more this next week and discuss it durring our phone call next week. She said she wants to learn all she can to follow Christ. I was so happy, she was the first person I have talked to who does not cover or dress modestly in dresses that actually thought I may be right and was not crazy. She told me she is so proud of me and how much I have grown as a person and as a christian in the past few years. She also said she wished with all her heart she was with me now so she could give me a BIG hug. This ment more to me than anything else she could have ever said to me. I just wanted to share this with all of you as I believe it is an important milestone in both my life and my mothers as a christian. She is going to study something that means alot to me and she is open to learning more than her church is willing to teach her. She turned to me, her daughter as a titus 2 woman for part of her walk and to me that is an awsome thing.

Wow... Praise God! That brings such a smile to my face.. I'm not sure yet how my mother will respond. I know she's always wanted to do what is right and has always been very conservative. My only feer is that I might come accross as judgmental... ... and then she might feel defensive. Anyway, I'm so glad that everything went so well in your talk with your mother!

I am so very happy for you! That is just wonderful and I will pray the Lord will continue to soften your Mother's heart to the Will of the Lord. When I first began to cover I also told my Mom and she was so encouraging it just melted my heart! I must say that it was probably one of the kindest understanding talks we have had. At that time I was getting alot of greif from every direction but my Mom stood by me and that made a world of difference. God Bless you and thank you so much for sharing those encouraging words.

Praise be to God!! My mother was supportive although she didn't agree or find it needful to look further in the scriptures. She however, said we must each work out our own convictions, and was quick to support me, especially when other family members would attack. I am glad to hear your mother is not only supportive, but also looking into the scriptures for herself.
Love in Christ, Heather
