Those are the words of very God telling us that He will answer prayers at times even before they are asked. In my case He has done that for me in a rather large way.
The type of cancer I have is very rare. It is highly unusual to find a surgeon that has any experience with it. However, God being God, He sent me such a man. When I first met this surgeon I asked him if he were familiar with this type of cancer. He said he had removed a number of these type of tumors. I asked him quite a few questions that only a person with knowledge of this cancer would know the answers to. He answered each of them correctly. Praise God for that!
When I went in to surgery this past Thursday at 7:30AM he discovered I actually had four tumors rather than the one we thought we had to deal with. Praise God again none of them were attached to anything of importance such as my bladder or intestines.
I was released from the hospital this past Saturday afternoon. It has been a rough few days. Yesterday was especially rough and quite painful. Praise God again that I went home with no pain medication. I have only been taking Advil. The surgeon said things went very well, all of the tumors were removed with no unexpected difficulties. He had a urologist as assistant because it was thought one of two of the tumors might be attached to my bladder. Praise God again they were not!
I have no idea how long the recovery pro9cess will be. I have to make an appointment sometime today to get the staples removed.
Praise God for His goodness, grace and mercies! He has been so good to me. Even during times when I have been convinced He has abandoned me He has been faithful. Such love is difficult for me to comprehend.

To add another praise to this long list, yesterday I had 15 metal staples removed from my abdomen. I was somewhat concerned it would hurt quite a bit but it went very well. The surgeon seems to think I am recovering a lot better than I think I am! He said I am doing excellent. I hurt! All I can say right now is Praise God for suspenders because I can't wear a belt.

Dear Brother George...I am so glad to hear that you are doing better...I have not posted much (due to many reasons) but I have had you in my thoughts and prayers...I had to laugh a little when you shared your experience with the staples removal. I had staples removed from my neck when I had my thyroid removed, the nurse assured me that it would not hurt She was half right...she caught my skin when she grabbed two of them and it hurt So when I had the opportunity to remove staples from a patient's abdomen as a nursing student, I was excited. It took me longer than a seasoned nurse, but I managed not to create any unwanted discomfort ;D. Anyway I am glad you are doing better, and I enjoy reading your posts...Take care and I will continue to pray for your healing...Sis Debbie

To add to this thread and to keep you all up to date on my post operative condition...
Praise God for His goodness, mercies and especially healing. I am feeling better today than I have in a while. I have no pain in my abdomen at all. There is some discomfort but not really pain. God has been so good to me considering it has not even been three weeks since the surgery.
There are so many things to be thankful for. One of my favorite Bible passages mentions this:
(Php 4:6) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (Php 4:7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
With thanksgiving. I thank God endlessly for His goodness, grace and mercies as well as His provision. It is less than two weeks now until we have Pastor Jim Schettler arrive to be with us full time. He is such a blessing to our Church. His wife and youngest son have arrived and are living in our "Haven of Rest." (It is a new double-wide modular home set up on our property.)
The primary thing I continue to ask for in my prayers is that I regain the strength to be able to stand and sing in the choir again soon. I tried to stand and sing this past Sunday. I had to sit down again about half way through the first verse of Victory in Jesus. I believe I will ask The Lord for the strength that I may be able to attend choir practice again this Sunday. I have not been able to serve as bus captain either. I do not have the strength or the inclination to be jumping on and off the bus 40 or 50 times on Wednesday night. That will come.
If you would pray for increased strength for me I would greatly appreciate it.
(Mat 26:41b) the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
In Christ, George

Your testimony through all of this has been a real blessing for me indeed! The desire in your heart to serve the Lord is more than obvious in your words. I'll be praying that you regain your strength and stamina quickly in the Lord's timing. God Bless you brother! Smile!
