Dear Brethren, Please pray for our 12 year old daughter, Bonnie. She was leaning over the washing machine with one leg protruded back behind her, eating a yogurt, and her younger sister, age 11, came running through the laundry room and tripped over her leg. When she accidently kicked it, it caused a fracture at her hip. We went to the doctor and got xrays, now we are going to take her to Vanderbilt Medical Center Children Hospital in Nashville. Please pray for the doctors to have wisdom, and for the Lord to heal her completely, and for the Lord's provision because we do not have insurance. Thank you for your care and prayers. We, obviously, will be away from the board maybe for a couple of days, we will post an update just as soon as possible.
Please pray for Darlene and baby Caleb, because he nurses and we are going to have to take him with us. Please pray we do not pick up any sickness in the ER.
Please pray that they will get her in quickly.
Thankfully, Bro. Ben and Darlene.

Dear Praying Brethren, We got to the hospital Sunday afternoon and checked in at the ER. Because we brought good x-rays and Bonnie hadn't eaten in 24 hours, they decided to do surgery last night. The way they explained what happened to her was that the femur (thigh bone) at the top where the growth plate terminates at the ball, slid out of place when her sister tripped over her leg. They said imagine the ice cream scoop sliding over from it's right place on the cone, the femur bone being the cone. They made an incision, moved the bone back in place and put in a screw.
The thing to pray for now is for the bone to mend completely and for the growth plate to not be effected. Also pray for the Lord's provision for the bill.
Thank you and God bless you.
Ben and Darlene

Father, i lift this family up and leave them in your hands, knowing that there is no better place to be. I ask that you give comfort, that you give peace and protection, and that you give healing, and above all else, let you will be done. In Jesus name i pray...

Well...they told us this morning that there was a 30 to 40% chance that the other hip would do the the same thing. This moring before the physical therapy people got here to show Bonnie how to use her cruthches, the surgeon came in and said the other hip looks like it is starting to do the same thing. They highly recommeded doing the same surgery to the other hip while we're here. The condition is called slipped capital femoral eppysis or "SCIFI" pronounced skiffy. So here we go again, please keep praying. Since she ate a good breakfast, they will have to wait till early this evening.

Dear Friends, They did the 2nd surgery last night and it went off without a hitch except there was a different anethesiologist and he didn't do a nerve block for the area they operated on and when she awoke she was in severe pain. They gave her some pain killer by i.v. and it finally kicked in after we got back to our room. Bonnie slept well and is in good spirits. They disconnect the i.v. and we are waiting to talk to the physical therapist and the folks from the financial office. Lord willing we will get out of here early afternoon. Bonnie has a very good apetite this morning. I told her when this ordeal is over I'd supply her a queen's feast. She chose Mexican food.
Thank you so much for your prayers.
Ben and Darlene

Hey Ben and Darlene...Still praying for you all...You can tell Bonnie that she and I have something in common besides our Love for our Lord Jesus Christ, we both have screws holding bones in place, so if we are ever in an airport together and we can't get pass the metal detector, we can keep each other company ;D Thanks for the web address....as a nursing student I am always wanting to gain new knowledge....May the Lord be with you all...Love Debbie
