Fall Creek Falls here in Tennessee Dearest Brethren, I think it would be a great blessing to get together and have an old fashioned camp meeting. There could be: Personal Family Time Hiking Picnicing Getting to know one another Chapel services geared for the whole family *childrens messages *sisters meeting *brethren meeting *main messages I was looking at a couple of State Parks here in Tennessee. There are some beautful parks with full camping facilities as well as cabins. There is a place to rent for chapel services. I would like you to pray about this and let me have some feedback. Thank you for your time, and your involvement here on the HCB discussion page. For Christ and souls, Bro. Ben

Hey Bro Ben...it sounds like a great idea and I really wish I could do it! We are very active in our church, where my husband is an Elder and I sing in the choir and getting away is difficult. We are having our first vacation in 3 years Sept 10-18 and will be spending it with our family in Fla....my father-in-law has cancer and isn't doing well. When I get back, I'll have to go take care of my dad after his cancer surgery. He lives in SC. Going to the Camp-Meeting would be so great! I would love to meet everyone I've met here, but there's just no way, we could come this year. I hope you are able to pull it together! It's a GREAT idea! Lynn

Great Park pick Brother Ben!
I remember when we went pick nicking there (the place where the above water fall is located). It was breathtaking.
Just think of it a Head Covering Babtist Camp meeting! How encouraging.
Let's all pray many can make it. There are many of us Baptist that cover were just spread across America it would be encouraging for us all to meet and get to know one another making new friendships with likeminded people. Amen!
With love, prayers, and support for this endever, ~ sister Darlene ~

Oh my goodness! It's been so long since we've been to a camp meeting. Used to go to them a lot when we lived in north MS. I love going to them!
Do you have any idea how long the meeting would last and what about motel or camping facilities? How will that be arranged?
Details! We need details! ;D

But do send any other information as you get 'hold of it, Bro. Ben.

I am looking into some options. This is still a very do-able thing for 2005. Is anyone still interested. I am trying to put together some prices on renting a Christian camp areas perhaps in the Great Smokeys. It is pretty central for those here East of the Mississippi. Let me hear some feedback.

As I accululate information, I am finding that I am going to need some kind of numbers, i.e. 7 (dad, mom, and 5 children.). I am not asking for a concrete commitment at this point, but if you think you might come to a meeting, how many would you be bringing.
If you would like to come, but can't financially, list anyways, you never know what the Lord could do between now and then. This thing will be done in the most ecomonically feasible way possilbe, I don't think we have any John D. Rockafellers in our group. Let me know.
Also, it is looking like the Fall will be the best time of the year. Weather in the Mid-South is still pleasant and prices and availability are better.

Thanks Gerald and Glenda. So far we have approx. eight families and most of a whole church from Vermont. People are coming from Vermont, Maryland, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, Michigan, and Penneylvania. How exciting. Please keep me in your prayers as I search for a good place to have this meeting. We may just end up going to a state park somewhere here in the Mid-South, and renting a section. I'll keep ya'll posted.
