Has anyone ever heard of the "Pearables" materials? I saw some of their books in a bookstore today, and had seen them in the home of another homeschool family before. I bought one that is a study guide for mothers and their daughters, teaching feminine character traits and godly girl- and woman-hood. It looks like a really neat book!

I have begun reading this book with my girls, and doing the Bible study at the end of each chapter. Today's chapter was "The Truth About True Beauty" (ch. 2). What a sweet truth that true beauty is not found on the surface, and the illustration was given about your grandmother who is beautiful to you in spite of her wrinkles and gray hair. Her greatest beauty lies within. We need this lesson. Even if our children never see television, they do see billboards, magazine racks in the stores, Barbie dolls and worldly women everywhere. And unfortunately, they catch attitudes from other children (family members!) who do not have a biblical perspective. Ask me how I know!
