I know we have alot of new moms here or soon to have a baby. I thought this was a good topic.
New borns and young babies can pick up germs and viruses from the Hospital, and from the church Nursery.
My little girl picked up the strep virus in the hospital, I had her C-section, I got a bad bacterial infection as well. The virus stayed in her body and when she turned two it resurfaced and attacked her elbow and almost took her life, they were able ( by the mercy and grace of God to save her arm) Praise the Lord for His abundant goodness!
Another one of my daughters who I did not have in the church nursery, picked up from her 2 year old sister the RSV virus and it attacked my baby's lungs and almost took her life. She suffered for years with Asthma and weak lungs. The 2 year old got it from a child in her two year old class and gave it to our new born. My 2 year old only got mildly sick but my new born almost died from it. Again Praise the Lord for His abundant goodness.
We like Home Birth's because it keeps mama and baby away from so many ''germs'' that are in the hospital. (We have other reasons we prefer home birth over hospital births.) We do not take our babies into public until they are 4 to 6 weeks old, and we do not put our babies in the nursery ( too many germs) and the other children do not go to the children's classes.
We believe in nursing instead of formula which is another good thing because mothers milk wards of common diseases and gives the baby a healthy start. Most of my children do not get even a runny nose or common virus until they are well over 6 months, but we do not mingle them with others in the nursery or S.S. classes anymore, and I think it helps. Caleb was 11 months before he got his first runny nose ( and it never was very bad, it went away within a few days). Thats pretty good.
Just some helpful food for thought!
