www.tomorrowsworld.orgThey say that all ten commandments are to be obeyed. "Sin is the trangression of the Law". What law is John talking about? They also say the Gospel is not the death, burial, and ressurection, but is the kingdom of God. The bible shows the disciples and Jesus preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God in Acts and the Gospels. Any ideas or thoughts on this group or what they teach? Shaun Giese

Brother Shaun, although I have not gone to that particular web site to view what they have to say let me attempt to answer some of your questions.
The law John was speaking of was what we refer to as the Old Testament law. It was the law practiced so heartedly by the Pharisees. Here is what Jesus had to say on that subject:
(Mat 5:17) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
(Mat 5:18) For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
(Mat 5:19) Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
(Mat 5:20) For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
There is a lot said there. Not only are we to obey the Ten Commandments, we are to obey the entire law and then go beyond that. Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ lived that to the fullest. Since we are commanded to be conformed to His image (Romans 8:28-29,) we must also do the very best we can to obey and go beyond the law.
Notice the verse in which Jesus said that if we do and teach the commandments we shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven?
As far as the teaching of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ to be equivalent to the Kingdom of God I believe those things to be synonymous. If you look at it closely unless one believes in the death, burial and resurrection they will not see the kingdom of God and if they do believe they will achieve the kingdom of God. In the writings of many of the early Christian authors as well as the writings of many more modern commentators they equate the Gospel with the kingdom of God.

I forgot to add that I tend to stay away from any group which claims to have all the answers. If that is the case the answers they have are of man because the Bible tells us that we have no way of knowing when Our Lord will return. Although there will be obvious signs the Bible tells us that the day of the Lord will come upon us as a thief in the night. The Bible also tells us that only The Father knows when The Son shall return. It is not for us to judge or try to figure out but to watch. Keep your eyes upon the Eastern sky.

I'm going to (I hope) jump right in and answer for my brother, George, yes, we keep the true Sabbath. The Old Testament sabbath was a day, the New Testament Sabbath is a person, namely, Jesus Christ.
The word sabbath, simply means, rest. Notice:
Hbr 3:7 ¶ Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
Hbr 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
Hbr 3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Hbr 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in [their] heart; and they have not known my ways.
Hbr 3:11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
The rest of the Old Testament was the say they entered into the promised land, importantly! "by faith."
Now read this:
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.
Did you notice who gave the rest? Jesus. He is the Sabbath or Rest of the new covenant. Read on in the first of the next chapter.
Mat 12:1 ¶ At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.
Mat 12:2 But when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. See how the Pharisees were bound in a day.
Mat 12:3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
Mat 12:4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
Mat 12:5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
Mat 12:6 But I say unto you, That in this place is [one] greater than the temple.
Mat 12:7 But if ye had known what [this] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
Mat 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
So, in being saved by faith, we keep the Sabbath and the Law, IN Jesus Christ. If you walk IN Him, you will be keeping the law. He is the fulfillment of the law, including the sabbath.
