Okay, lets dust off this homemaker area of the board... It needs attention! I love discussing home remedies, because our family relies on them a lot as alternatives to drugs and even surgery.... Let me tell you my story. During our first term in Guatemala, I kept in touch with fellow missionaries from around the world via email. It seemed that every time we turned around, a brother was asking for prayer for gall bladder problems. Some had surgery to remove their gb's, and there was even a husband/wife in Croatia who had gb attacks and did surgery within a month of each other! I started thinking, is it the bad water on the mission field, or the stress, or what? I wondered if it was just a matter of time before we had problems, too. So I researched it, and found a wealth of info about cleansing the gb so that stones pass. I DID NOT WAIT FOR PAINFUL SYMPTOMS to show up, but did a cleanse just as an experiment. I was totally amazed. I passed 100-200 stones (I lost count). And I was spared the excruciating pain of a gall bladder attack. Well that was definitely worth it!

Darlene had a midwife who over prescribed large amounts of Calcium during one of her pregnancies and she developed gall bladder problems. We didn't know what was happening, but she thought she was having a heart attack.
We surmised that the over abundance of Calcium gave her gall stones. She immediately backed off of fatty foods and started drinking lemon juice and apple juice 3 or more times a day to eat away at the gall stones. Se took a coffee mug filled it 1/4 of the way with lemon juice and the rest of the way with apple juice ( we use not from concentrate) , she would drink this 3 times a day and other times when she felt a feeling like a brick in her stomach, she said it felt like her food was not digesting.
note: The lemon juice eats away at the stone, and the apple juice softens the stone... This regiment really works! Darlene does not ever suffer from gall stones anymore. She can even eat greasy food like pizza with no problem.
When she would have a gall bladder attack (it felt like a heart attack, she could hardly breath and the pain was real bad.) She would take two Tb of olive oil and then chew up two 50 mg each chewable vit C tablets. It wasn't a one time process, but a regiment instead.
Eventually the problem went away.

That is great, Bro. Ben! Such a simple remedy for an issue that a doctor might have suggested surgery for.

danielzrib,
What kind of cleanse did you do and with what product, if you don't mind me asking.

Lenni,
I just used juices for the gall bladder cleanse. To get ready, I did a juice "fast" for a couple of days - drank half a gallon of natural apple juice per day, nothing else. (I've read that you can also use orange or grapefruit, but I would pick one and not mix them - that can make you gassy.)
Don't have any apple juice after 6:00 p.m. of the second day of the fast, and at 7 p.m. mix and drink the following: 1/4 cup cold-pressed, extra-virgin olive oil 1/4 cup fresh orange juice 2 Tbsp fresh lime or lemon juice
Then lie down and relax. Fifteen minutes or so later, drink the same mixture and rest. Repeat until you have swallowed a pint of olive oil. By then, it's around bed time, so go to bed (lying on the right side). I was told to take about 2 Tbsp epsom salts dissolved in water right before going to bed to "help things along", and I did do that, but am not sure that is necessary after a two-day fast.
Some get up around 3 a.m. to go to the bathroom, and pass stones then. I didn't pass stones until the next morning, but it really worked. I couldn't believe it.
Of course, after fasting and cleansing, you need to take it easy, and not eat heavy solid foods right away!
