How many others out there enjoy cross stitching? I recently decided to take it up again. I have this nifty pattern which reads in the center (in red letters) "Give us this day our daily bread." Then the whole of the wording is surrounded by various types of bread, rolls, bagels and the like. There is also a stick of butter, a honey pot and even a jar of jam in the design. I really enjoy doing it as it helps to relax and calm me. Besides it is going to look really nice when I get it done.
After I finish the design since I am a rather accomplished handyman I am going to build my own frame for it. I have the wood but will have to buy a piece of some kind of plastic such as Lucite or something like that to cover it with. Then I have to find the best place int he house to hang it up or it may become a gift for someone.

I wish I knew how to cross stitch! My girls do, It has been many years 10 or more since I tried, I will try again.
I would like to have a pattern like yours, maybe if it's not too much trouble...you could send me one and I'll pay you back shipping and all, if I cannot do it, my girls can, boy would that look nice in my new kitchen, and it would remind us of you.
I love to crochet', but it sometimes hurts my hand, I do it for hours on end, I like making baby blankets.
I thought it was so neat how you know how to cross stitch. Bro Ben's grandmother taught him how to crochet' and sew when he was a boy. I have a friend and her husband is an engineer and he makes dresses and jumpers for her and they look great! I think thats really neat!
Have a great day Bro George!

Sister Darlene, I sent you a PM about this subject. It should be there by now.
It is quite interesting that the enemy will attach anything and everything that has to do with spirituality. Yesterday as I was working on this project I started having problems with the floss getting tangled up and things of that nature. After it happened three or four times I realized what was going on and put it down. I prayed about it and hopefully this evening when I get a chance to continue with it things will have settled down.

I also enjoy cross stitching a great deal. I am working on one right now that has the For everything there is a season bible verse on it and has typical seasons for each season on it. I am mostly a knitter and a crocheter but I cross stitch in between because of the tendonitis (at 28 years old ....thats a lot of knitting heehee) George I am also lucky that I am married to an incredible carpenter so that cuts down on my framing cost oh and he made me custom size scrolls for my stand I also wanted to add that if you look at the magazine cross country stitching, its also online, it is full of scriptural charts. It has no tacky ads and all of the patterns are country and quaker type. Its wonderful and the patterns are beautiful, worth checking out Happy stitching samantha

I'm in the midst of a cross-stitching project, too. It's a table cover for those little round side-tables. It has pretty flowers and greenery on four sides -- It's a LOT of stitching, and I might have bitten off more than I can chew. Eventually I'll get it done, and send it to my Mom.

I really enjoy cross-stitching. I have had a lot of health issues and there have been times when cross-stitching was the only thing I could do that was semi-productive. I am currently working on a very large project. It is a reproduction of a 14th century sampler that depicts a "dragon" I received the picture of the tapestry from a creation scientist after he gave a talk detailing the evidence that this was probably an actual dinosaur that still existed at that time. I expect this project to take me a total of 5 years, unless God blesses us otherwise (with children ) It will have a total of 400,000 stitches! I also have a good supply of cross-stitch books and some fabric that I will probably never use. If anyone wants to learn to cross-stitch, or knows how but can't afford the materials, I'd love to share with you.

Dear sister Crystal,
I would be very interested! Four of my 6 girls love to cross stitch, I try to pick up thread from thrift stores and garage sales but they use it up pretty quick.
I'd love to learn how to cross stitch, I crochet. The books would be helpful to teach me and give my girls some nice patterns. The material would be a blessing too.
Let me know if you need help with the shipping cost. Darlene Smith Po Box 100792 Nashville Tn 37224

I cross stitch quite a bit. Most of my patterns come from Cross Country Stitching. Linda Coleman is the designer and she includeds bible verses in most of them. If you go to the web site there is a page where you can type in a verse and get a list of designs with that verse in it.

Thank you for that tidbit of information Grandma Dee.
I've set down my cross stitching lately since I decided to learn to knit and crochet.

Wow! I don't think I could cross-stitch something as big as all you ladies are doing!
I've cross-stitched some things, but usually only small things - I went through a stage where I did handkerchief corners for all of my family, including cousins and second-cousins!
I believe my grandmother tried to teach me to cross-stitch when I was about 3 or 4 but I only really caught on at around 8. I prefer knitting and crocheting, but I do like doing embroidery/tapestry/cross-stitch from time to time.
If anyone has some reasonably small but nice patterns could they let me know? I can't seem to find any that are small enough that I won't loose patience but still nice to look at or can be attached to something useful, like a towel or hankie... I don't really see the point in making something that won't be used.
