I wanted to share some information with folks here about the dangers of ingesting soy products. I know that soy is the newest food trend but trends are generally about money makers in the long run. I am a Natural Practitioner, working towards certification and licensing (really tough to do here in Colorado!). In my studies I have learned to avoid soy and feel I should at least give others the option to understand the dangers of soy and choose for themselves what they will do with that information. If you are interested in exploring this further the best place to start is The Weston A. Price Foundation. You can "google" that name and go to their site, once there "search"....dangers of soy. Read the info, I think you will find it very helpful. This is a very hushed topic because believe me soy is BIG BUSINESS. So take a moment or two to study it out, I think you will be glad you did. Thanks for posting this I sure am guilty of using a whole range of soy products - and have been since I first started cutting back on dairy products about 8 years ago. Bro. Steve

Thanks for the warning Sister Pamela I am studying to be a master herbalist through home correspondence. How did you become a Natural practitioner? Was it through home correspondence? Blessings Lisa

Sister Lisa, How wonderful to hear you are studying to become a master herbalist, one of my favorite subjects! I think it is amazing how God has given us everything we need to make ourselves well in the plant life around us. Now we just have to figure out how everything works! So much of what our great grandparents knew has been lost or forgotten. Too bad. To answer your question...I am not yet finished with my training to become a certified and licensed natural practitioner. Most of my studies have been at home and I have been applying myself for 33 years now while raising a family. Now that our children are grown I have been able to get back to more serious study, but now I am also in Bible College, so I have to split my time up carefully! There are a couple of good colleges for study in natural medicine, I have been doing my studies at home through one of their curriculum's. I am also studying under a friend who is a doctor of natural medicine. At my age, (I'm 58) I don't know if I will ever get to the licensed phase, our state is really passing some tough laws, along with some ridiculous standards and guidelines, but I am quite happy either way as I at least have the knowledge to help my family and friends (and myself). And I have never thought of it as a way to make a living. (Good thing for that!) I wish you great success in your studies as we need more interests in these fields. Keep at it. I distribute herbs through Pure Herbs and they have some excellent books on the subject. One of my favorite herbs is Hyssop. We use it for nearly every ailment. My husband has not been sick in 9 years since we started using it! And I use it regularly to keep virus away! We are both around a lot of people and knowing hyssop is there for us has been a blessing!! Blessings to you, Sister Pamela

My word there are some interesting things on that web site concerning soy products. I thought this was the cheap protein that was supposed to save the world from famine. The powers that be sure seem to push soy products a great deal. Isn't if often true that when we are told how good something is for us we are not given all of the information concerning whatever it might be. Although I don't usually care for soy beans per se I have eaten edamame a few times in salads. I liked it but will now stay away from it.
Thank you for posting that article.
In Christ, George

It's crazy that people have eaten so much soy that they're developing allergies to it like some people to milk.
I've read that eating tofu can increase the plaque that causes Alzheimer's, you name it. I try to stay away from the stuff.

Worrying. Thanks.
I have increased my use of soya products, in the interests of carbohydrate reduction for diabetes sugar control -
soya milk & yoghurt have negligible carbs compared with milk
I use ground almonds & soya flour to make a form of soda bread
I have not noticed any adverse effects, nor were there any counter-indications in a recent health screening, but I shall use up what I have & find alternatives
I bought my soya protein isolate from a health foods store.
