A Christian Home Blog has links to places where you can find patterns and ready made clothing. I don't sew but I have used Plainly Dressed, Vessels Of Mercy, and Plain and Simple Headcovers for dresses, head coverings and aprons. I did make my veils on a few occassions. I just cut out an oval to the desired side including a 1/4 inch for the hem and then trimed it in lace to hid my not so neat hem. I tried I failed and yet I wore them with pride. I also bought a pettyblouse from Works of the heart. And a couple of Cape dresses from Katies Merchantile. Paisley Cushion, www.commonsensepatterns.com/, Gehmans General Store and Butter and Honey are the pattern places I can think of right now. I know there is others I just can't think of them right now. Hello Elizabeth, For dress patterns I have a pattern from the costumes section of a pattern book - I can't remember which brand, but most dress bodices with do. I use the bodice and sleeve patterns but for a skirt I just use a rectangle of material and pleat it into the bodice. However, if you're new to sewing I would recommend using a complete pattern. For headcovoring patterns, I sometimes use the headcovering from here home.mindspring.com/~erin_renee/id2.html . More often, I use a hanging veil. The pattern for that was given to me by a friend, so I'm not sure where you can find it, but it's similar to the 'front lace veil' here www.covered4him.com/headcoverings.htm but without the lace. From Rachel.

I sewed some coverings that look sort of like charity veils from a pattern I sort of freehanded myself. I used old pillowcases for the fabric, because I had several more than we used, and one side was already finished. I used the sewn band for the front, measured it out to about 24", which is what it takes to go around my head where I like the front of the covering to sit. For the veil part, it's sort of a long, large half-oval centered on the band, about 18 in wide by 10" long (you can taper the sides down more if you want less flair on the sides). This is not to scale, but sort of a rough ideal what I mean:
