First I would like to ask prayer for all of those who have been effected by the severe storm systems that have decimated the South.
Last month we were hit by a tornado that picked up our shed and landed it in the neighbors back yard; so we were blessed that there was only this small property damage; but two weeks ago a tree fell on our former BIL's home, crushing half the structure and one vehicle. He and his wife would have been killed if not for the sirens sounding, as the tree (a very large, old oak) fell right across their bed. They and their four children are still displaced, while they await insurance appraisal and reimbursement. There were many downed trees, crushed cars and much roof damage here in our area from that system and the previous one.
The storms of this past week, have caused major flooding in upstate AR, where several of our friends live; a levy broke adding to that devastation. Vilonia was hit hard, practically demolishing the town. A friend of ours is there today helping his friend tear down what is left of her home, as the structure is completely unlivable and unstable. Over 40 people have been killed in AR over the past month, due to the storms; but this is nothing compared to the destruction and loss of life that occurred just last night from Mississippi, through Alabama and in to Georgia. Some 60 tornadoes in this system killed over 200 people in all three of these states with 120+ deaths occurring in Alabama alone.
Please just uplift these areas and people in prayer. I know AR has been declared a disaster region so I am sure Alabama has as well. Supplies and assistance are greatly needed. Pray that help can reach those most effected.
On a personal level, I am asking praying for my husband and myself, regarding health issues. Charley is having biopsies of several questionable areas on his skin (today). He is also scheduled for an EGD in June as he has been experiencing a continually sore throat and has had trouble swallowing over the past 6 months. He also has a slightly enlarged prostate; he is only 42 y/o.
I have been experiencing heart palpitations for years but this past year has seen increased frequency and intensity and now they are accompanied by fatigue, nausea, and dizziness; all of which are effecting daily life. I wore a heart monitor two weeks ago but have not received results from that data yet. So prayers for us are most appreciated as well.
