Hubby bought me a vita mix to grind my owm flours and cereals. I also make juice and soups with it. He then bought a bosch. My friends who use a bosch have used their's for 20 years! I use mine twice a week to make all our breads. I know initially they are an expense but my health did not allow me to do everything by hand that I used to do. We also bought a soy milk maker. I do not have a country home so I can not raise goats anymore. The soy milk maker lets me use nonGMO soybeans and provide milk and tofu for pennies a pound.
I used to think I made decent bread but we got a book called No More Bricks with some great basic recipes and my bread is now much softer. Even the grandkids like it better.

We have a Vita Mix and Bosch also. We have not used the Vita Mix much yet, we still need to learn the ins and outs of that. We have a Bosch Whisper Mill and Mixer. My wife and girls use it to make our homemade bread.

We have limited space in our RV but we did get a Brevill juicer for all the veg we buy at farmer's markets. We don't use our oven very much because it is so tiny and being a gas oven it doesn't cook very evenly. Everything else I mix up by hand. I have an extra deep corning ware casserole that doubles as a mixing bowl.
Most of my bread baking is biscuits in the campfire dutch oven. I make up 2 or 3 weeks' worth of biscuits and freeze them. The microwave in the tiny galley helps reheat them. To me they taste better than store bought sliced bread.
PS: I use the juicer's pulp to make zucchini bread or carrot bread. Those come out of the dutch oven tasting so good that it's gone before it has a chance to cool completely. The grandchildren love to come spend the night with us in the RV and cook on the campfire. Such happy faces!

I would love a Vita Mix but it is way out of our budget... But I have a way of making our bread with all non GMO ingredients and it now raises so well, often out of the pan.
I warm milk and water and honey and sugar ( sometimes brown)to about 105 degrees,so they melt, then place that with the rest of my sugars I use a TBL of maple syrup....
But all sugar and how much is up to you... but my key is so that it disolves..
Add this mix with 2 Tbls of oil and yeast... let sit and raise about 10-15 minutes, then add flour, salt, egg and anything else you want....
put light on in stove and place in oven ( off) to rise 45 min.
after punch down place in buttered loaf pan to raise another hr in oven....
bake 350 30 min
