My wife and I moved from Georgia to North Carolina in July. We had hoped to get a job quickly, had one in the bag (so we thought!). Please pray for employment needs. We are pretty much broke now but the bills keep coming.

In 1996 I moved from Texas to Tennessee. I had spoken to a company up here and had a "sure thing" waiting for me when I got there, at TWO possible locations! I got to town, filled out my application, and they told me, "We'll call you if we need you." Ug! In my case, I found a job right away, but then, the economy was much better in 1996. We sure will pray for you. Be encouraged. We'll be praying for you. Check your PM I sent you a message.

Thank you all for praying. This time period is a very hard one and is starting to have a negative effect on us in many ways.

Things have not really changed for the better for Marie and I. I did have an interview last week. However, it was for a job I really am not qualified for so I don't expect to get it. I am not sure I could handle the physical requirements in any event.
To keep "afloat" I have been selling various personal items, which can be trying. Today I sold something my father bought for me in 1964 and really didn't want to sell. It was an uncomfortable experience. I know things are just things and not supposed to be super important. Still, it can be like getting rid of more than just an object, kind of hard to explain.

Thank you for all the prayers.
Last night I put my motorcycle up for sale. Really would rather not have done that. It is one thing that I enjoy very much and it gets 50+ mpg. However, it is the most valuable thing I own money-wise so it has to go.
Any of you who have owned and enjoyed a motorcycle will understand how this makes a rider feel.

You will be included in our prayers. My husband and I moved to the area where we live now, over 20 years ago. Unemployment was very high in the town we left. We came here due to the promise of work, as unemployment was very low here. The first trip here netted a job for my husband. So we packed up everything and moved far away from our hometowns. After we were here about 2 weeks....the job ended! But God had a plan (Even though we were not yet followers!) and eventually, Rich landed a new job in a completely different field. And although he works for a different company now, it is in the same field. We are grateful that God had his hand on us all this time, even though back then we did not acknowlege Him. So, I am just saying that we understand how it can be frightening to make a move like this and have everything fall out from under you. We are praying for you and your wife.

We will be praying here in Michigan for your employment. Check with the school districts also they have jobs posted all the time. Try temp agencies, and contact local churches to see if they know of any place that is hiring....sell yourself, your skills, experience and qualifications to any potential employer, sort of reinvent yourself..I know you will succeed.
God bless, Sister Penny

I will pray.
By the way, what are you looking to do? I'm up here in VA and do know some people and, who knows, maybe I (or someone else on this board) know someone who is looking to hire someone that can do something that you can do.

Please pray for my wife, Marie. She fell yesterday and went face first into the pavement. Her glasses cut her up some but thank God her eyes were not hurt. She was badly shaken by the experience. She is scraped, scratched and bruised but nothing was broken. She is real sore today and didn't sleep well.Marie is very sensitive and something like this affects her more than most people.
I am pretty wide open as far as employment is concerned but I don't have many skills. My longest running job was w/computers. The place I worked at bought truckloads of used ones and we tested them and stripped them for parts. Not very technical compared to most computer related work.I used to do a lot of manual labor but various injuries over the years have effectively eliminated a lot of that. I cannot do heavy lifting any more and my knees, which were torn up in a motorcycle accident when I was much younger, give me a lot of problems.I have been at different times: a courier, mail clerk, receiver at a loading dock, assembler in a factory, warehouse worker, truck driver and such.I earned a BA degree in history years ago but never got a chance to do anything with it. A BA is about worthless these days.

Well, today I received an email telling me I didn't get the job I had interviewed for. This came as no surprise. I knew it before I left the place but how I knew is a little funny so I will tell you all about it.
While I was being interviewed by the office manager and warehouse supervisor, they were both sitting in swivel chairs. They were swaying back and forth, in sync with each other. I was asked if I had any international shipping experience. When I said "No", they both got the same expression on their face and stopped swaying at the same time. I knew this was a deal breaker.I almost laughed out loud when it happened, even though I knew what it meant. It is still funny to me.
I feel a little bit bad about not getting the job but I felt like it was beyond my ability. I was partly worried that if I got the position, I wouldn't have been able to do it well and it would have been bad for all concerned. So, I chalk it up to being the best thing although I am still broke.
If all the foregoing was not enough, our daughter and her family are being evicted from their apartment. It is their own fault and the landlord has been more than fair with them about it but it is just another bad thing to deal with. They have 2 weeks to get out and that is going to be tough. We have nothing to help them with so we will just help them move, if they can find a place to go to that fast.
As always, all prayer appreciated!

My wife has an interview today at 1:30. Please pray that this comes through for us. Since I didn't get the job I interviewed for we need this to work out. This weekend I went to a gun show and sold an antique musket that has been in my family for many years. The money is practically already spent . Morale is very low around here.
