We were able to find a new apartment in a better neighborhood for our daughter and her family. We will be helping them move today. I have to admit I hate moving.
Still no good word on the job front and my motorcycle is not selling even at a rock bottom price. It seems the market is flooded with bikes, most of them newer than mine.

Dear Brother & Sister, The Lord says in His Word He will provide for us. It might mean selling off items that we treasure or have kept for many years. I have had to do that and leave behind "stuff" I thought I could not live without, but when it all boiled down, it was just material and I didn't need it.
I will be praying for your wife to get the job she interviewed for.
Perhaps you can do some online type work? Use the skills you are good and and enjoy and turn it into a business....
I won't quit praying here in Michigan!!! God bless, Sister Penny

Looks like I will have a buyer for my motorcycle but for about half what it is worth and certainly less than I have in it. Oh well, that's the way it goes. At least it will bring in some money.
Marie did not get the job she interviewed for the other week. We are still waiting to hear on some we have applied for.
We didn't go on a church search Sunday as I had a killer migraine this past weekend.

My thanks to all who have been praying for us.
I sold the bike today at a loss but at least got some much needed cash. I tell myself that if things pick up I can always get another one. If the economy tanks, better to sell now than to be unable to sell later at any price at all. Still, the whole deal has made me feel more than a little depressed. I'll get over it in a couple of days. God is still good, no doubt about that.

Brother, I am so saddened to read of all you and your wife have been through, but your attitude is amazing. You continue to give praise and to hope in our Father, keep that up!
With a four year degree you can substitute teach in your local school system. It probably wont' pay astronomically well but a good sub can work every day of the week if you are willing to sub in all the buildings of your corporation. Check into that, I bet you can get work there, and the good thing about subbing is that you can turn down a day of subbing to go on an interview if you need to.
Blessings, Sister Rachel

Rachel, thanks for the tip. I tried that in Georgia and got on the list for subs. However, the list was 5 pages long and I was on the last one. I took a class to be accepted and did OK but I was never called. It seemed like unless a lot of people on those first pages passed away, I had little chance of a job. Here in N.C. with a much larger population, I feel the same thing applies only more so.
I've always liked the name Rachel. We named our daughter Rachel. Her middle name is Koren which is Greek for girl. I wanted her to have a Hebrew name and a Greek name to remind her of the Old and New Testaments.( I heard a saying that when you pick a name for your child you should go to the back porch and yell it out 4 or 5 times since that is the main way you will use it the first 10 years or so of their lives. If it doesn't sound good there, it won't sound good anywhere else.) I found it rolls of the tongue very well when you have to raise your voice after she throws straw in the campfire when you are cooking and it pops ashes all over the food!

Also, the Rachel in the Bible had an amazing character... patient and loving, she waited 14 years for the man God meant for her!
... I must admit I am partial to the name, too.

Nothing new to report on our situation. I turned 56 last month, I guess that was an accomplishment.
Only thing I notice is that the older I get the more frequent the migraines seem to be. I used to get a couple a year but it is now a couple a month. I suppose the tension of being broke and having no place of our own is getting to me. My wife gets them also which is extra bad because of her other health issues.
Here's hoping the Lord sees fit to bless us with some employment. We are still sending out resumes and applications. I feel like one of them has got to work for us.
I had to loan our daughter my van as her car broke a tie rod as she and I were going down the road. That was a close call as it was at night and raining when it happened. So for now Marie and I have only 1 vehicle, a 1995 Honda Accord with 200,000+ miles on it.
I had been struggling with the doctrine of eternal security for some time. I had believed it years ago but had come away from it. Recently the Lord made me to see that it is the truth and it has been a real blessing to finally get it settled. Now if we can find a good church that preaches it!
