A good well balanced diet will help keep you out of the Doctors office.
Our children are hearty and healthy (Ben and I are falling apart and have been since our late teens early adulthood. We riddled our bodies with drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, etc. We are paying for it now.
We are raising our children on a good diet, we benefit from a good diet as well.
A good well balanced diet:
Good fats butter, olive oil, corn oil, Lard (instead of Crisco), (olives, avocados are good fat too)
Raw sugar instead of refined white sugar, honey, molasses, sorghum.
Wheat instead of white bleached flour
Our bodies need moderate amounts of fat, sugar, dairy, meat (we eat 1 lb of meat in our dinner soup or casserole every night.
We eat oatmeal, grits, eggs, muffins, toast, pancakes (we have a tasty wheat one we love), waffles
For lunch we eat left overs, grilled cheese, mac and cheese homemade, or other things healthy
For supper we eat casseroles, veggies, bread and small amount of meat, soup, spaghetti, Mexican dishes, etc.
For snacks peanut butter, wheat crackers, cheese, olives, nuts, dried fruit, pretzels, fruit, veggies raw, etc

No prepackaged foods, pre fab, very little fast food junk if at all, we eat at a Mexican restaurant instead of fast food, It's good fresh cooked food, and good for you and if you share a Fajita for one you can feed you your wife and children and eat chips for free to fill up. It's cheaper than fast food and better for you too.
No MSG or preservatives: Mrs Dash is a great seasoning, also Adobo seasoning, Aldi has good plain spices.
A good soy sauce is Brags Liquid Amino's. It taste really good and is great on veggies and baked potatoes, steamed veggies, and rice.
Salt ''moderate use of store bought'', Real Salt is a good natural brand of Salt and Minerals (it's actually good for you). Our bodies need salt and minerals. You can buy this by the pound (25 pounds for $61.09) and put it in canning jars for storage.

I would not salt while cooking and use this salt at the table for healthy properties. We're going to start doing this so we can get all the helpful minerals.
