Friends,
Came across this quote from Jonathan Edwards in my reading today and wanted to share ~
"The enjoyment of God is the only happiness with which our souls can be satisfied. To go to heaven fully to enjoy God is infinitely better than the most pleasant accommodations here. Fathers and mothers, husbands or wives or children, or the company of earthly friends are but shadows; God is the substance. These are but the scattered beams; God is the sun. These are but streams; God is the ocean."

That reminds me of a passage I really like. It was written over two thousand years ago in a different day and Age when folks didn't live as long as they do now, but it still has great eternal significance. "The number of a man's days at the most are an hundred years. As a drop of water unto the sea, and a gravel stone in comparison of the sand; so are a thousand years to the Days of Eternity."
