OK we think God is directing us....
So someone led me to a home church site in Alabama ( 300 miles away) upon speaking to the Man of the house he encouraged us to home church....
Which is something we have been contemplating this past week ( we usually have been searching for churches)
Then a Missionary friend who is traveling the world happened to be in our area today, so we took him out to dinner and randomly he suggests that we start a home church " and have fun with it" he said.
So now we are seriously considering the avenue.... any thoughts???
Both advice and suggestions

Thank you I looked at the home fellowships and only one was within an hr, but they don't cover and are more charismatic and contemporary then we are.

Be careful when it comes to home churches. As I mentioned here, home churches are often beholden to nobody outside the family and can easily turn heretical or cultic. This can even happen if the leader(s) are trying to lead in good faith - humanity is flawed and we need each other for mutual correction.

It has positive points and negative. It is a haven for those weary of worldliness or exclusivity fostered in institutional churches. It can be lonely when no one else comes along for a long time. Perhaps you can do this with occasional (long if necessary) hike to good fellowships to keep your compass straight with brotherly accountability. Most of all seek the face of Jesus, He'll never lead you amiss.
