Dearest Brethren, I just wanted to ask you to pray for Darlene. She has had kidney problems for years. We had it checked out in the past and they told her she did not have kidney stones, (even though she'd pass small ones.) Anyways, she woke up in excruciating pain early Wed. morning. We had to go to the Emergency Room. They put in a stint that day and sent us home. We came back in early this morning to do lithotripsy (blasting the stone with ultrasonic waves.) We don't "jump" to the doctors or hospital every time something happens, but this was major. The stone was 12mmx7mm which in SAE is roughly 1/4" by 7/16". "Huge" as they called it. We are trusting the Lord for his provision on the bill since we don't have insurance. The verse that jumped out at Darlene and I as we did our daily bible reading was: "And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the LORD." 1 Kings 20:28 The Lord spoke that into my heart to mean he was going to take care of this in such a way that those who have "ears to hear" would see his miraculous provision and say, "Hallelujah!" I'm saying that already, amen.

Hi Bro Ben, Please tell sis Darlene I am praying for her. I am sorry to hear of her surgery. I know God will provide for you all. He always does.
Just on Wednesday I found out that I will have to have one possibly two surgeries. I like you all do not have insurance. I was literally crying and praying last night worried how I was going to pay for it. I clearly felt God telling me to read psalm 34. I read it and now feel complete peace that God will take care of it. I share only as a hope it will be an encouragement to you all. Although I know you said you feel peace God will take care of it. I thought I would try and give you all some extra encouragement. Blessings

Bro Ben: I will pray for Sister Darlene too. My mom had the same surgery about 2 years ago. It went very well and she is a good bit older than Darlene. Take care and keep us up to date.

Bro. Ben asked me to request continued prayer for Darlene and the family. Doctors blasted the kidney stones into small fragments and placed a stent so that the tiny stones can pass. Darlene will be going back to the hospital in a couple of days for a follow up to make sure all the pieces of the stone have passed.
In the meantime, she is in great pain. On top of that, the Smith children are sick. Ben believes there is a spiritual attack upon his family right now and covets your prayers on their behalf. Thanks to all who have been praying.
John

It is Tuesday morning and I am sitting in the office of the Urologist right now. Last night and this morning we lifted up Darlene's situation in prayer and the Lord sent another answer. In my reading I came across the following: 1 Chron. 4[10] And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.I was asking the Lord to enlarge the covering of protection on my wife and family and for Darlene to be kept from evil. She walks up and says, "I have a problem." I'm thinking, "Oh well, there goes the prayer of Jabez!" (God has a sense of humor.) She had accidently pulled the stint out about 3.5 inches. I had a peace and told her this is the Lord. We decided to pull the stint out, (which went all the way up into her affected kidney.) Afterward she started passing chunks of stone. She began to feel much better and looked better, too. Keep praying. I'll update you later. They have to take x-rays and see if the lithotripsy blasted the stone sufficiently. We are believing it did! Amen! More later.

Well, Praise God again! The visit went well and the treatment she had on Friday sufficiently blasted the stone. Though she still has some pain (pretty bad head aches, and charlie horse-like pain in her kidney) and diziness, she is doing so much better. We appreciate your continued prayers as the rest of the fragments pass through and that she can finally get a good nights sleep.

I have been thinking about you all a lot and praying. Is there anything you all need besides the obvious (finances and prayers)?
