I beheld, then, that they all went on till they came to the foot of the Hill Difficulty; at the bottom of which was a spring. There were also in the same place two other ways besides that which came straight from the gate; one turned to the left hand, and the other to the right, at the bottom of the hill; but the narrow way lay right up the hill, and the name of the going up the side of the hill is called Difficulty. Christian now went to the spring, and drank thereof, to refresh himself [Isa. 49:10], They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. and then began to go up the hill, saying-- "The hill, though high, I covet to ascend, The difficulty will not me offend; For I perceive the way to life lies here. Come, pluck up heart, let's neither faint nor fear; Better, though difficult, the right way to go, Than wrong, though easy, where the end is woe."
Climb on today, my brethren. There are easy ways and there is the Lord's way. In His way we have the promise that His grace is sufficient and His burden is light. Though many around you scoff at the rigorous hill you choose to climb, be encouraged for One climbed a difficult Hill for us one day; is the servent greater than his Master? Climb on!

Thank you for this Bro. Ben. We are getting ready to start reading Pilgrims Progress for our read out loud time (homeschooling). I'm really looking forward to it.

I so enjoy Pilgrim's Progress! I believe that next to the Bible it is my favorite book. It was one of those that I just could not seem to put down when I started reading it. I have a copy in my collection that was printed in 1822. It is a little fragile but I do read it at times. I also have a copy of The Holy Wars from the same time period. Unfortunately I have not read it. Perhaps after this wonderful reminder I will do that now.
Thank you brother Ben!
Yours in Christ, George
