Here is a verse I thought might be a blessing to someone who might be struggling with fear. Alot of ladies struggle with fear. God's word is so good! Psalms 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.Seek the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might....even in your weakness God will hear your prayer...Cry out to God in your weakness, cry out to Him and ask Him to comfort you to change your thinking...He will do it...He will deliver you from ''all'' your fears. He's a mighty God...He came to set the captives free and give us life more abundantly.
Praise His Holy name!
God is Good!

My favorite verse along these lines is
II Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love, and of a sound mind."
When I start to fear, get anxious, or even depression (an unsound mindset) I just repeat that over and over..
Another one that I have given the children when they are scared and/or having bad dreams is
Psalms 4:8 "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou LORD, only makest me dwell in safety."
Psalms 3:3 "But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. "
Just a few of the ones I can think of quickly that teach us that we are not to fear because God protects and shields and is our refuge. Thanks for this reminder sister..

Please allow me to add my two cents worth to the thread. Here are two of my favorite verses:
(Pro 3:25) Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
(Pro 3:26) For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
There are some others also along the same line that have not been posted. Let me give you a couple of more:
(1Jn 4:18) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
(Rom 8:15) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
This is one of my favorite subjects in the Bible. I once did a search to attempt to determine how many times in the Bible we are told to "fear not, be not afraid, have no fear," and things of that nature. I got up to 125 times and stopped. I still had quite a bit of the New Testament to go. God does not want us to fear. He also does not want us to worry which is a manifestation of fear. Why should we worry or fear when we can pray?

With regard to George's post, the pastor at the church we have gone to for a while has said numerous times that something akin to "Do not be afraid" or "Do not fear" occurs 365 times in the Bible - once for each day of the year. I have never tried to count them, and I am not sure how many different phrases are considered in the count (and if there are any contortions needed to get to 365). But, it would not surprise me in the least if God chose to remind us of this in essence once each day.

Aha! Thank you for sharing that with us Brother Kevin. As I said, once I got to 125 I stopped counting. I sort of got the point.
Let me share a little something with you from a personal and practical aspect. I used to be quite a nervous (scared) flier. When I got on an airplane and it started taking off I would grab the arm rests, my hands would sweat and I got very nervous. The same would happen when we hit any turbulence or when we started coming down and the plane started bumping around again.
On a trip I took with one of oh noistant Pastor's some time back he noticed me hanging on to the arm rests for dear life. He told me it wouldn't do any good. I told him it made me feel better. He asked what was the worst thing that could happen. Of course I told him the plane could crash. He asked what was the worst thing that could happen then. I said that I could die. He asked me what was the best thing that could ever happen to me and I answered that I go to heaven. He then asked why I was so nervous on the plane when I knew that if all the worst things happen it could be the best thing that ever happened to me?
Be not afraid of sudden fear. Now I am a much more relaxed passenger on an aircraft because I know that no matter what happens I will be safe in my Saviour's arms.

This little study was so good for me..... Fear that and worry which really is fear is the terrible sin I carry in my heart.... but I am choosing to lay it down now. Thank you all for sharing this I will be pinning up the verses around my house and when the devil tempts me to sin by fearing and worrying I will read and meditate on those precious verses. Thank you all again for sharing.

This is a great little study!! Thanks so much. I love II Timothy 1:7 and the verses in Psalms that were given.. and then I like to remember Philippians 4:8 as it tells me what I should be thinking about instead of what I am worrying about!
~Finally, brethern, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ~
